𝐈𝐄𝐄𝐄 𝐑𝐔𝐄𝐓 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡, 𝐈𝐄𝐄𝐄 𝐖𝐈𝐄 𝐑𝐔𝐄𝐓 𝐒𝐁 𝐀𝐆, and 𝐈𝐄𝐄𝐄 𝐖𝐈𝐄 𝐀𝐆 𝐁𝐃𝐒 successfully organized 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐈𝐂𝐓 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 under the inspiring theme, “𝑨𝑰 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑫𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒑𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕: 𝑮𝒊𝒓𝒍𝒔 𝑺𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑭𝒖𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆.” The event brought together distinguished speakers, academicians, professionals, and enthusiastic participants to celebrate the role of women and emerging technologies in shaping a sustainable and inclusive future.

The program commenced with an opening speech delivered by 𝐃𝐫. The event featured two keynote sessions centred on contemporary and impactful technological domains. The first session, titled “𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐅𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐯𝐬. 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥,” was delivered by 𝐃𝐫. In this session, participants were introduced to the growing challenges of digital misinformation, deepfakes, and the importance of critical evaluation of online content. The second keynote session, “𝑫𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏: 𝑬𝑬𝑮-𝑩𝒂𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝑩𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏-𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒖𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒔,” was conducted by 𝐃𝐫. We are honored to welcome Ms. Oishi Jyoti, Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) and Advisor of IEEE RUET WIE Student Branch Affinity Group.
We are also honored to have Ms. Momtaj Hossain Mow, Lecturer (CSE) at Eastern University, Dhaka, also as the moderator of this inspiring event. She was the founding chair of IEEE WIE Jagannath University Student Branch Affinity Group. She is currently the treasurer of IEEE WIE AG Bangladesh Section.
Both moderators bring strong academic backgrounds and a shared commitment to empowering students,especially women in engineering and technology. Their experience, leadership, and passion for advancing inclusivity in ICT will play a vital role in guiding the discussions, fostering engagement, and ensuring a dynamic and impactful session.

Dr Pratima Pradhan is a seasoned engineer, academic leader, and telecommunications veteran with a career spanning more than three decades. Holding a PhD in Information Technology from Singhania University, India, and a BS in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from BUET, Bangladesh, she brings exceptional academic depth to her work. She retired as Director of Nepal Telecom after 30 years of service, having also served as temporary Chief Technical Officer. She currently serves as Director at Kathmandu Engineering College, overseeing IT, Research, and International Relations, and is the Chief Editor of its Research and Publication office. As the Founder Chair of the IEEE WIE Nepal Section since September 2025, she stands as a trailblazer for women in engineering across the region.
