Really excited to share that MUTTER: The Diary of a Mother, a film I collaborated on a song for with Tristan Bechet who scored it, will have its World Premiere at Tribeca Festival 2026 (June 3–14).

India’s legendary singer Asha Bhosle transformed my experience of music as a young girl. She embodied boldness and sensuality in a way that felt radical. Her voice held multitudes. She challenged the narrow script of the pious, submissive woman so often on dispaly in mainstream Indian cinema and replaced it with something far more raw through her mischief and rebellion. Her songs were a refuge where I could unapologetically explore my own singing voice.I owe her more than I can articulate when it comes to my own expression as a singer and musician. Rest in peace, Asha Bhosle. Your voice tilted my musical landscape.

In my own small homage, I wrote Ahsa (her name spelled backwards) for my 2019 EP Contra - a collection of modernist covers of classic Indian and Pakistani songs that were always booming through my parents’ cassette player.bhosle

~ Begin Again is a song from my upcoming LP Future Flesh. I wrote it after watching the film Precious. I remember feeling completey undone by it because it captures a kind of universal brutality. This song is about resilience and the instinct to return to yourself even after feeling goes numb. At its core is a longing to be remade, to feel something real enough to restore belief in oneself, in connection, and in the possibility of beginning again.

We recorded this the day before the storm hit NYC in January. The city felt strangely suspended that afternoon. Two rehearsals to build an acoustic arrangement, and this team brought so much precision and sensitivity it honestly floored me. What a beautiful day.

Visual artist Carlito Dalceggio and I had been circling a collaboration for years. Something visceral, subtly occult. His visual language is among the wildest, most intuitively alive I’ve ever encountered, and I knew his hand could carry the witchy pulse of this song. He is also deeply generous in spirit, it shows in every frame.
