The 𝗜𝗖𝗣𝗖 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 is officially wrapped up!

This year's ICPC Preli was special, there were 10 teams in total competed for the spot in the ICPC Dhaka Regionals Onsite from BAU.

Huge appreciation to all the other participating teams, specially the juniors from 1-1. You all tried your best. Keep Practicing and Prepare for the next phase of competitive programming!!

🎉 BiE Academic Poster Presentation 2025 — A Celebration of Innovation and Collaboration 🎉

On May 27, the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics at Bangladesh Agricultural University hosted the BiE Academic Poster Presentation 2025, where creativity, innovation, and research excellence came together under one roof.
The event was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Md. Zainal Abedin, Honorable Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, and began with a joyful cake-cutting ceremony to officially launch the program.Following the cake-cutting, the program commenced with valuable speeches from distinguished guests and faculty members.
Many esteemed faculty members from the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology were present, showing strong support for the event.

From the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics, our respected faculty members Professor Muhammad Mustagis Billah , Professor Dr. Md Rakib Hassan , Associate Professor Dr. Machbah Uddin Sazzad and newly appointed teachers were present and actively involved in the event.
A special moment of the event was the formal introduction of newly appointed faculty members in our department. They were officially welcomed in front of everyone — a proud milestone as we continue to grow with fresh academic strength.

The program was honored by the presence of distinguished professors from various faculties, including Professor Dr. A. B. M. Arif Hasan Khan Robin , Professor Dr. Md. Alamgir Hossain, Professor Dr. Md Md Golzar Hossain , Professor Dr. Md. Shafiqul Islam, and Professor Dr. Purba Islam. Additionally, a few esteemed guests from outside the university also joined us.
Many other respected professors from different faculties were also present, adding great value to the event with their participation and support. Those who couldn’t attend due to prior commitments extended their heartfelt best wishes and appreciation for the initiative.

Teachers explored the posters, asked thought-provoking questions, provided valuable suggestions, and guided students on how to improve their work — transforming the event into a festival of knowledge and academic celebration.
Selected faculty members served as judges, and based on their scores, the Champion, 1st Runner-Up, and 2nd Runner-Up will be announced soon. All participants and volunteers will receive certificates in recognition of their contributions.
Due to time limitations, a few students were handed certificates during the program itself, accompanied by encouraging words from the faculty.
We extend our sincere thanks to all the respected teachers for taking time out of their busy schedules to join us. Your presence and support made this event truly special and uplifting for our entire community. 🌿

On the afternoon of May 25th, in a road accident at 300 feet in Dhaka, Lieutenant Ishtiaq Ahmed, an officer of the Bangladesh Army, was critically injured and breathed his last at 8:20 PM. Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raji'un.

Seminar on AI and oneAPI | 17th May | CSM Lab, 3rd Floor, BAU.

We were delighted to host a dynamic and insightful seminar in collaboration with the oneAPI Community Group - Bangladesh , marking their first event at Bangladesh Agricultural University and their first step beyond MEC in expanding community engagement.

The session, attended by our enthusiastic Bioinformatics Engineering students, faculty members, and a respected guest from Mymensingh Engineering College, explored the power of AI PCs, the potential of heterogeneous computing, and Intel’s oneAPI cross-architecture programming model.

Highlights included discussions on AI, ML/DL, GenAI advancements, and the exciting opportunities offered by the Intel Student Ambassador Program for oneAPI, empowering students to gain industry-relevant skills.
A heartfelt thanks to the organizers and speakers for such a valuable and forward-thinking experience. Looking forward to more collaboration and innovation in the future!

As the sun dipped below the horizon and the call to prayer echoed in the air, we gathered not just to break our fast, but to reflect, express gratitude, and embrace the blessings of togetherness.

On March 13th, we had the privilege of sharing a heartfelt Iftar with our esteemed teachers from the Computer Science and Mathematics department. It was an honor to welcome Prof. Muhammad Mustagis Billah, Prof. Dr. Md. Rakib Hassan, and Dr. Machbah Uddin as our special guests.

A huge thanks to the students of Batch 03 and 04 for organizing such an exquisite event. Cheers to more memorable gatherings that will strengthen our Bioinformatics Engineering family and help us thrive together!

Congratulations to our team, "BAU_BiE_OutL&ers", consisting of Anik Howlader, Muhammad Ishmamul Haque and Asif, for representing Bioinformatics Engineering, BAU at the ICPC 2024 Dhaka Regional Onsite Programming Contest held this year! After successfully clearing the prelims, they showcased their skills and teamwork on the big stage, making us all proud. It was our best performance until now 🎉
