Dhaka Half Marathon

With the health and safety of our community being an utmost priority, we regret to inform you that the Dhaka Half Marathon 2022 cannot take place in 11th February 2022 due to deteriorating Covid situation in the country.

We recognize that the postponement may come as a disappointment but we look forward to providing our athletes with an exceptional race experience in the future.

We are delighted to announce that Glaxose-D Dhaka Half Marathon 2021 has won 'Gold' for 'Best Use of User Community/ New/ Own Platform' and 'Silver' for 'Best Integrated Digital Campaign' at the Digital Marketing Award 2021. The awards are organized by Bangladesh Brand Forum, and recognizes the top works in digital marketing.

We are delighted to announce that Glaxose-D Dhaka Half Marathon 2021 has won 'Bronze' in the 'Best Use of Digital Media' category at the 10th edition of Commward 2021. Commward, organized by Bangladesh Brand Forum, is one of the most prestigious accolades that recognize creative work in advertisement.

We are honored for the recognition, and would like to extend our gratitude to our partners and supporters who largely contributed to this success. We would also like to thank our agency partner for the campaign, Purplebot Digital , for making this possible.

Dhaka Half Marathon, since it's inception, has actively been a frontrunner in empowering women through it's platform. We believe that sports is one of the many avenues that require our attention, when we talk about ensuring equal rights for women and beyond. As one of the pioneering initiatives in the circuit, we bear the responsibility of enforcing it.

We try to do our best in helping build the culture where women can come and participate in our running events comfortably. In the process, we have seen that improving opportunities for women in distance running requires lot of effort in our country. And we believe that building that mindset is more important than anything else.

We are truly encouraged to see the number of female participants grow from less than 70 in 2018 to almost 500 in 2021.

With a mindset towards addressing the imbalance of opportunity, representation and access to sport and physical activity for women, we norms and commit to take action for equality.
