ইসলামের মূল স্তম্ভ পাঁচটি / The main pillars of Islam are five

1. ঈমান / Faith
2. সালাত / Salat
3. যাকাত / Zakat
4. হজ্জ্ব / Hajj
5. রোজা / Fasting

কুরআন / Quran

১) ঈমান / Faith

আল-ই-ইমরান ‌‌৩:৮৪/Aal-e-Imran 3:84

قُلْ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْنَا وَمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَٱلْأَسْبَاطِ وَمَآ أُوتِىَ مُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰ وَٱلنَّبِيُّونَ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِّنْهُمْ وَنَحْنُ لَهُۥ مُسْلِمُونَ

বল, ‘আমরা ঈমান এনেছি আল্লাহর প্রতি এবং যা নাযিল করা হয়েছে আমাদের উপর, আর যা নাযিল হয়েছে ইবরাহীম, ইসমাঈল, ইসহাক, ইয়াকূব ও তাদের সন্তানদের উপর। আর যা দেয়া হয়েছে মূসা, ঈসা ও অন্যান্য নবীকে তাদের রবের পক্ষ থেকে, আমরা তাদের কারো মধ্যে পার্থক্য করি না এবং আমরা তারই প্রতি আত্মসমর্পণকারী’।

English - Sahih International

Say, "We have believed in Allāh and in what was revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Descendants [al-Asbāṭ], and in what was given to Moses and Jesus and to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [submitting] to Him."

২) সালাত / Salat

আল-বায়্যিনাহ ৯৮:৫/Al-Bayyinah 98:5

وَمَآ أُمِرُوٓا۟ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ حُنَفَآءَ وَيُقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُؤْتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَۚ وَذَٰلِكَ دِينُ ٱلْقَيِّمَةِ

আর তাদেরকে কেবল এই নির্দেশ দেয়া হয়েছিল যে, তারা যেন আল্লাহর ‘ইবাদাত করে তাঁরই জন্য দীনকে একনিষ্ঠ করে, সালাত কায়েম করে এবং যাকাত দেয়; আর এটিই হল সঠিক দীন।

English - Sahih International

And they were not commanded except to worship Allāh, [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give zakāh. And that is the correct religion.

৩) যাকাত / Zakat

আল-বায়্যিনাহ ৯৮:৫/Al-Bayyinah 98:5

وَمَآ أُمِرُوٓا۟ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ حُنَفَآءَ وَيُقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُؤْتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَۚ وَذَٰلِكَ دِينُ ٱلْقَيِّمَةِ

আর তাদেরকে কেবল এই নির্দেশ দেয়া হয়েছিল যে, তারা যেন আল্লাহর ‘ইবাদাত করে তাঁরই জন্য দীনকে একনিষ্ঠ করে, সালাত কায়েম করে এবং যাকাত দেয়; আর এটিই হল সঠিক দীন।

English - Sahih International

৪) রোজা / Fasting

আল-বাকারা 2:183/Al-Baqarah 2:183

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ

হে মুমিনগণ, তোমাদের উপর সিয়াম ফরয করা হয়েছে, যেভাবে ফরয করা হয়েছিল তোমাদের পূর্ববর্তীদের উপর। যাতে তোমরা তাকওয়া অবলম্বন কর।

English - Sahih International

O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous -

৫) হজ্জ্ব / Hajj

আল-ই-ইমরান 3:97/Aal-e-Imran 3:97

فِيهِ ءَايَٰتٌۢ بَيِّنَٰتٌ مَّقَامُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَۖ وَمَن دَخَلَهُۥ كَانَ ءَامِنًاۗ وَلِلَّهِ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ حِجُّ ٱلْبَيْتِ مَنِ ٱسْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلًاۚ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَنِىٌّ عَنِ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

তাতে রয়েছে স্পষ্ট নির্দশনসমূহ, মাকামে ইবরাহীম। আর যে তাতে প্রবেশ করবে, সে নিরাপদ হয়ে যাবে এবং সামর্থ্যবান মানুষের উপর আল্লাহর জন্য বায়তুল্লাহর হজ্জ করা ফরয। আর যে কুফরী করে, তবে আল্লাহ তো নিশ্চয় সৃষ্টিকুল থেকে অমুখাপেক্ষী।

English - Sahih International

In it are clear signs [such as] the standing place of Abraham. And whoever enters it [i.e., the Ḥaram] shall be safe. And [due] to Allāh from the people is a pilgrimage to the House - for whoever is able to find thereto a way. But whoever disbelieves [i.e., refuses] - then indeed, Allāh is free from need of the worlds.[1]

হাদীস / Hadith

সহিহ বুখারী, হাদিস নং ৮/Sahih Bukhari, Hadith No. 8

‎حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا حَنْظَلَةُ بْنُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ "‏ بُنِيَ الإِسْلاَمُ عَلَى خَمْسٍ شَهَادَةِ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ، وَإِقَامِ الصَّلاَةِ، وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ، وَالْحَجِّ، وَصَوْمِ رَمَضَانَ ‏

ইবন ‘উমার (রাঃ) থেকে বর্ণিতঃ

তিনি বলেন, আল্লাহর রসূল (সাল্লাল্লাহু ‘আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) ইরশাদ করেন, ইসলামের স্তম্ভ হচ্ছে পাঁচটি।

১. আল্লাহ ব্যতীত প্রকৃত কোন উপাস্য নেই এবং নিশ্চয়ই মুহাম্মাদ (সাল্লাল্লাহু ‘আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) আল্লাহর রসূল-এ কথার সাক্ষ্য প্রদান করা।

২. সলাত কায়িম করা।

৩. যাকাত আদায় করা।

৪. হাজ্জ সম্পাদন করা এবং

৫. রমযানের সিয়ামব্রত পালন করা (রোজা রাখা)।

(ফুটনোট: [১] কোন কোন ফকীহদের নিকট ঈমান বাড়েও না কমেও না। বরং সমান থাকে। তাদের নিকট একজন নবীর ঈমান ও ইবলিসের ঈমান এক সমান। তাদের এই ‘আকীদাহ কুরআন ও সুন্নাহ বিরোধী। এটা মুরজি’আহ সম্প্রদায়ের ভ্রান্ত ‘আকীদাহর অন্তর্ভুক্ত।)

Narrated Ibn 'Umar:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Islam is based on (the following) five (principles):

1. To testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) .

2. To offer the (compulsory congregational) prayers dutifully and perfectly.

3. To pay Zakat (i.e. obligatory charity) .

4. To perform Hajj. (i.e. Pilgrimage to Mecca)

5. To observe fast during the month of Ramadan.

Sahih Hadith

It is narrated on the authority of Abdullah b. 'Amr that the Prophet observed: "There are four characteristics, whoever has them all is a pure hypocrite, and whoever has one of its characteristics, he has one of the characteristics of hypocrisy, until he gives it up: When he speaks he lies, when he makes a covenant he betrays it, when he makes a promise he breaks it, and when he disputes he resorts to obscene speech." In the narration of Sufyan (one of the narrators) it is: "And if he has one of them, he has one of the characteristics of hypocrisy."
