Thamma blends horror-comedy, folklore and romance in the expanding universe of the franchise. Visually slick and entertaining in parts, it delivers good performances from its lead cast. However, the writing is inconsistent, the tone wavering, and the emotional stakes don’t fully land.
Snakes and Ladders (2024-):
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐☆
A decent Tamil thriller about four friends caught in a dangerous crime after a failed break-in. The scenic visuals and young cast work well, though the story has a few logic gaps and pacing issues. Still, it’s an engaging watch for crime-drama lovers.
Madharaasi (2025):
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆
Strong action, good visuals, and a serious performance from Sivakarthikeyan. But the film drags in the second half, has too many songs and over-the-top moments. Decent if you like commercial thrillers, but not one of Murugadoss’s best.

Review: ⭐⭐⭐ / 5
A solid whodunit anchored by Konkona Sen Sharma’s strong performance. The show has good atmosphere, interesting suspects, and decent pacing, but feels too familiar in parts. The ending is a cliffhanger that leaves more questions than answers.

A gritty street-drama about Pachpan (“55”), a young orphaned pickpocket in Mumbai, who struggles with identity, morality, and redemption. Strong performances from the younger cast and good direction, though the story gets a bit predictable and slows in places.

Uncle 1979 (2025):
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐½☆
Uncle 1979 is a dark Bangla thriller exploring childhood trauma and revenge. The story follows a man haunted by abuse in his youth and his chilling journey for justice. It’s intense, emotional, and disturbing—but powerfully acted and well-directed, shedding light on a painful reality.
Play Dirty (2025):
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐☆
A slick, chaotic heist flick with plenty of action, witty moments, and a strong supporting cast. Mark Wahlberg is fine, but the story’s twists and bloated runtime weigh it down. Cool to watch if you like crime-plus-comedy, even if it doesn’t stick the landing.
