Congratulations Tamanna Meherun, General Secretary of Kaalo, for being selected as 14th Photoffee Photographer of the Year.

She was awarded on her photographic work titled "The Tale of Heal" . The work will be shared with you all to see after the award ceremony by Photoffee.

Kaalo wishes her all the best for her upcoming photography journey.

Martin Parr, the British documentary photographer who captured the peculiarities of the nation with clarity and hilarity, has died aged 73. He had been diagnosed with cancer in May 2021.

A statement from the Martin Parr Foundation on Sunday said: “It is with great sadness that we announce that Martin Parr died yesterday at home in Bristol.

Happy Birthday to Manzoor Alam Beg Sir.

Today, we celebrate the birth anniversary of Manzoor Alam Beg (1 October 1931 – 26 July 1998), a legendary Bangladeshi photographer and the father of fine art photography movements in Bangladesh. Known affectionately as Beg Sir, he dedicated his life to promoting photography as an art form and educating future generations of photographers.

Manzoor Alam Beg founded the Begart Institute of Photography in 1960, the first photography training center in Bangladesh, and the Bangladesh Photographic Society in 197612. His contributions to the field earned him numerous accolades, including the prestigious Ekushey Padak in 2007.

Let’s honor his legacy and remember his incredible impact on the world of photography.

মাত্র ১২ বছর বয়সে ক্যামেরা হাতে তুলে,পরবর্তীকালে দেশের প্রথম পেশাদার নারী আলোকচিত্রী হিসেবে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়েছিলেন শ্রদ্ধেয় সাইদা খানম। ২০২০ সালের ১৮ আগষ্ট তিনি বনানীর বাসভবনে ৮৩ বছর বয়সে ইন্তেকাল করেছেন। (২৯ ডিসেম্বর ১৯৩৭ - ১৮ আগস্ট ২০২০)

Counter-Foto warmly invites you to an artist talk by Laisul Hoque.

Laisul, a London-based artist, works at the intersection of autotheory and interdisciplinary practice. Rooted in memory and lived experience, his work delves into intimate microhistories and their entanglement with larger global currents. Through his art, he seeks a form of reparative justice, personal yet often echoing far beyond the self.

In this session, Laisul will share his recent film, “The Purpose was to Document the Other Side,” followed by an open discussion with all attending guests.

Kamrul Hasan Jisan is an award-winning motion graphics artist based in Los Angeles, specializing in high-end entertainment marketing. Originally from Cumilla, Bangladesh, he began his career in graphic design before relocating to New York and later Los Angeles to pursue opportunities in film and television. He is proficient in industry-standard tools such as After Effects, Cinema 4D, Houdini, and Nuke, with a strong background in design and visual storytelling.

Since joining Wild Card Creative Group in 2021, Jisan has worked on a wide range of blockbuster trailers and promotional campaigns. His portfolio includes major titles such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, The Batman, Gladiator II, Napoleon, Venom: The Last Dance, Daredevil: Born Again, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Thunderbolts, A Complete Unknown, F1, Superman, Masters of the Air, House of Gucci, Morbius, West Side Story, Severance, The Wheel of Time, Black Bag, Bosch: Legacy, Tehran, and many more.

Jisan’s creative contributions play a vital role in shaping the visual identity of major studio releases across global audiences, helping to elevate the impact and appeal of modern cinematic marketing.

We will listen about the journey, we will engage in discussions.

Ekramul Kabir Shohan started a filmmaking career as a Production Manager in 2006 understanding the filmmaking process up close. Ekramul cinematographed a documentary film on Rohingya refugees for the Aljazeera television network and his work also appeared on BBC and Channel 4 television, in London. Now he has been working as a cinematographer in two feature-length documentary projects directed by documentary filmmaker Manzare Hasin and photographer Saiful Huq Omi. Another two independent fiction films are in the post-production stage. Ekramul has been developing an idea for a documentary film revolving around the theme of life in the borderland.
How was it, what are the stories we did not hear and how to survive and prosper as a documentary cinematographer - we will have a glimpse of it all.
