Subject: Request for Independent Investigation into Alleged Irregularities and Corruption in the 18th BCS examination.
Dated: 23rd February, 2026
To
The Honorable Prime Minister,
Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
Subject: Request for Independent Investigation into Alleged Irregularities and Corruption in the 18th BCS examination.
Dear Honorable Prime Minister,
First of all, please take my salute with due respect. No need to mention further that it is your unprecedented attempt to take over the charge of the government in such a crucial moment in the history of Bangladesh and hope Bangladesh will be achieving it's right direction by your vigilant and dynamic leadership no doubt. I do not want to miss the chance to submit my appeal at your end and Iโm 100% confident that I shall get the justice in this connection from the honorable prime minister and the guardian of the nation. It may be cited here that your government have already declared zero tolerance against corruption which have been praised at all levels and I have been inspired by your firm determination against the irregularities and corruption.
It may be mentioned here that I have obtained my B.A degree and Master degree in Political Science from Govt. B.L College, Khulna under Rajshahi University and National University in English medium with the varsity position too. Earlier I have successfully passed the SSC examination from Khulna Zilla School. Later on, I have completed my LL.B degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism in English medium under National University and obtained another master degree in Social Welfare with the specialization in Victimology and Restorative Justice from the University of Dhaka. In my student life apart from the general education I engaged myself in the Sea Cadet (Cub/Scout/Rover) in Bangladesh Navy and obtained national/international level certificates, prize and proficiency badges in the different events like extempore speech, reciting, knotting, parade etc. For the last twenty years I have served in the responsible position in the different local and multinational trading/manufacturing companies successfully and enriched myself as the International Trade/Commercial and Marketing consultant. I took part in the several International trade conferences and seminar representing my country over there as well.
Reference to the captioned matter, I want to show a live comparative example here to clear my claim in this connection: I'm Md. Zahidul Islam (registration number 83976) appeared at the 18th BCS examination in English medium and passed the written examination successfully and appeared at the viva-voce where I also did well. But unfortunately, I was not in the final list of the qualified candidates due to the unfair means of the concerned authorities at that time and there is no doubt in it at all. It may be added that my first choice was the Foreign Affairs (against 12 posts) and second choice was the Administration (against 100 posts), third choice was the Customs and Excise (against 15 posts), fourth choice was the Police (against 60 posts), fifth choice was the Tax (against 25 posts), sixth choice was the Audit (against 15 posts) and seventh choice was the Information (against 21 posts). According to my study about the comparative civil service recruitment process of the ICSC (International Civil Service Commission) and other developed/developing/ underdeveloped countries it's very clear that International language should get the top priority in case of the International affairs plus other important cadres too. But it is a matter of great regret that in spite of being a complete English medium BCS candidate I didn't qualify in the final list whereas the candidates who got zero in English was selected!
Quote :
"A total of 3295 (20.11%) of candidates who appeared at the 18th BCS examination (held in 1996-97) got zero in English, even though some of them qualified for BCS posts". [Human Resource Management in Bangladesh Civil Service: Constraints and Contradictions, (Dr. Noore Alam Siddiquee), International Journal of Public Administration, 1532-4265, Volume 26, Issue 1, 2003, Pages 35-60].
Unquote :
Your Excellency, this is a clear violation of the human rights and our constitution as well. Therefore, I would request my honorable Prime Minister to instruct the concerned authority/ministry to investigate the matter properly including the quota system in my district Faridpur at that 18th BCS and remove the irregularity and corruption and find out the fake candidates who got appointment by dint of the unfair means and take necessary measures for the deserving candidates immediately, so that I can perform in any of the aforesaid important cadres. I reiterate that you'd be kind enough to grant my appeal as a symbol of justice and democracy in Bangladesh which will be a milestone indeed and allow me to serve you in any of the relevant cadres or ministry and oblige thereby.
Thanking you.
Yours truly,
Md. Zahidul Islam

***Education slow the bodyโs biological aging and helps you live longer.
You read that right. Rresearch reveals that higher education may do more than expand minds โ it could actually slow the aging process and extend life.
New research from Columbia Universityโs Mailman School of Public Health has found that people who attain higher levels of education age more slowly at the biological level and have a reduced risk of death.
Using data from the long-running Framingham Heart Study and an epigenetic tool called DunedinPACE, scientists observed that just two additional years of education were linked to a 2โ3% slower pace of aging and a roughly 10% reduction in mortality risk.
The DunedinPACE clock measures biological aging by analyzing DNA changes in blood, offering a โspeedometerโ for how quickly the body is aging. Researchers found that individuals with higher educational mobilityโthose who achieved more education than their parents or siblingsโtended to age more slowly and live longer.
This pattern held true across generations and within sibling comparisons, suggesting the effect isnโt just due to family background. The findings highlight education as a powerful tool for public health, offering benefits that go far beyond the classroom and deep into the biology of aging itself.

Studies show family meals are literally linked to better grades.
Children who regularly eat dinner with their families tend to perform better in school, according to a Columbia University study conducted by the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA).
Researchers found that teens who had five or more family meals per week were significantly more likely to earn top grades and exhibit strong communication and vocabulary skills. T
he study highlights the role of consistent family interactions in creating a stable, supportive environment that boosts emotional health and academic confidenceโkey contributors to educational success.
Beyond academics, the benefits of family dinners extend to a childโs overall well-being. Regular mealtime conversations offer children a safe space to express themselves, learn family values, and develop critical thinking skills. Importantly, the research also found that teens who shared more meals with their families were less likely to engage in risky behaviors such as smoking or drinking. In an era dominated by busy schedules and screen time, this study emphasizes that something as simple as eating together can profoundly shape a childโs future.
