Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman was born on January 19, 1936, in Bagmari village, Bogra. He was the second son of Mansur Rahman, a chemist, and Jahanara Khatun. Known as Komol in his childhood, he was reserved and shy, studying at Bogra Zilla School.
