আজ বিশ্ব পেশাগত স্বাস্থ্য ও নিরাপত্তা দিবস।

আওয়াজ ফাউন্ডেশন দৃঢ়ভাবে বিশ্বাস করে, বাংলাদেশের প্রতিটি শ্রমিক যেন ভয়মুক্ত, নিরাপদ এবং স্বাস্থ্যসম্মত পরিবেশে কাজ করতে পারে। প্রতিদিন কর্মক্ষেত্রে দুর্ঘটনা, অগ্নিকাণ্ড বা অবহেলার কারণে শ্রমিকদের জীবন ঝুঁকির মুখে পড়ে—যা কোনোভাবেই গ্রহণযোগ্য নয়।

🔴 আমাদের দাবি:

• সকল কর্মক্ষেত্রে আন্তর্জাতিক মান অনুযায়ী নিরাপত্তা ব্যবস্থা নিশ্চিত করতে হবে
• দুর্ঘটনাজনিত শ্রমিক মৃত্যুর জন্য কার্যকর ক্ষতিপূরণ ও বীমা ব্যবস্থা চালু করতে হবে
• শ্রমিকদের স্বাস্থ্য সুরক্ষায় নিয়মিত মনিটরিং ও জবাবদিহিতা নিশ্চিত করতে হবে
• শ্রম আইন যথাযথ বাস্তবায়ন করতে হবে

শ্রমিকেরা এই দেশের অর্থনীতির চালিকাশক্তি। তাদের জীবন ও নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করা মানে দেশের টেকসই উন্নয়ন নিশ্চিত করা।

Today is the World Day for Safety and Health at Work.

Awaj Foundation firmly believes that every worker in Bangladesh deserves to work in a safe, healthy, and fear-free environment. Every day, workers face risks due to workplace accidents, fires, and negligence—this is unacceptable.

🔴 Our demands:

• Ensure workplace safety measures in line with international standards
• Introduce effective compensation and insurance systems for workers affected by workplace accidents and fatalities
• Ensure regular monitoring and accountability for workers’ health and safety
• Proper implementation of labor laws

Workers are the driving force of our economy. Ensuring their safety and well-being means ensuring sustainable development for the country.

২০১৩ সালের ২৪ এপ্রিল রানা প্লাজা ধস বাংলাদেশের ইতিহাসে এক গভীর ক্ষত হয়ে আছে। সেই ঘটনায় ১,১৩৭ জনেরও বেশি গার্মেন্টস শ্রমিক প্রাণ হারান এবং হাজারো শ্রমিক আহত হন। ১৩ বছর পেরিয়ে গেলেও সেই ঘটনার ন্যায়বিচার, পূর্ণ পুনর্বাসন এবং নিরাপদ কর্মপরিবেশের প্রতিশ্রুতি আজও অনেকটাই অপূর্ণ।

২০২৬ সালে দাঁড়িয়ে আমরা আবারও শ্রমিকদের সঙ্গে একাত্ম হয়ে বলছি—নিরাপদ কর্মক্ষেত্র এখন আর কোনো দাবি নয়, এটি মৌলিক অধিকার। আহত ও ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত শ্রমিকদের দীর্ঘমেয়াদি চিকিৎসা, পুনর্বাসন এবং মর্যাদা নিশ্চিত করতে হবে।

এটি শুধু স্মৃতিচারণা নয়, এটি একটি অঙ্গীকার—আর কোনো অবহেলা নয়, আর কোনো প্রাণহানি নয়। শ্রমিকের জীবনের বিনিময়ে ফাস্ট ফ্যাশন আর নয়।

April 24, 2013 remains a painful reminder of what happens when profit is placed above people. Over 1,137 workers lost their lives and thousands were injured in the Rana Plaza collapse. Thirteen years later, too many promises remain unfulfilled.

In 2026, we stand alongside workers demanding what is basic: safe workplaces, long-term care for survivors, and respect for workers’ rights. Their labour drives the economy—yet their lives are still at risk.

This is not just memory, it is a call to act.
No more silence. No more neglect. No more tragedies.No More Fast Fashion at the cost of workers lives.

International Migrants Day 2025: “Migrant Voices Matter” 🌍
This year’s theme: “My Great Story: Cultures and Development”
আজ আন্তর্জাতিক অভিবাসী দিবস। এই বছরের প্রতিপাদ্য—“My Great Story: Cultures and Development”—আমাদের মনে করিয়ে দেয় যে অভিবাসীরা শুধু শ্রমশক্তি নয়; তারা গল্প, সংস্কৃতি, জ্ঞান ও অভিজ্ঞতা নিয়ে সমাজকে সমৃদ্ধ করে এবং উন্নয়নের চালিকাশক্তি হিসেবে কাজ করে।
Awaj Foundation ব্যক্তি ও সরকারকে আহ্বান জানাচ্ছে যেন অভিবাসী শ্রমিকদের সম্ভাবনা বিকাশের দিকে আরও গুরুত্ব দেওয়া হয়, যাতে তাদের দক্ষতা ও জ্ঞান দেশের অর্থনীতি ও সামাজিক উন্নয়নে কার্যকরভাবে অবদান রাখতে পারে।
আমরা জোর দিয়ে দাবি জানাই—
• অভিবাসী শ্রমিকদের জন্য জীবনযাত্রার উপযোগী মজুরি নিশ্চিত করতে হবে
• দালাল চক্র এবং পাসপোর্ট অফিসে হয়রানি ও দুর্নীতি বন্ধ করতে হবে
• নারী অভিবাসী শ্রমিকদের যৌন হয়রানি ও সহিংসতা থেকে সুরক্ষা নিশ্চিত করতে হবে
• প্রবাসী কল্যাণ ব্যাংকে অভিবাসী শ্রমিকদের পরিবারের জন্য বিশেষ কোটা চালু করতে হবে
• অভিবাসী শ্রমিকদের পারিবারিক অধিকার ও সামাজিক সুরক্ষা নিশ্চিত করতে হবে
• সর্বোপরি, জলবায়ু পরিবর্তনের ফলে সৃষ্ট অভিবাসনের ক্ষেত্রে টেকসই প্রতিকার ও পুনর্বাসনের ব্যবস্থা নিতে হবে
প্রত্যেক মানুষের সঙ্গে সমান ও ন্যায্য আচরণ নিশ্চিত করাই মানবিক সমাজের ভিত্তি। আসুন, এই আন্তর্জাতিক অভিবাসী দিবসে আমরা অভিবাসী শ্রমিকদের গল্প, কণ্ঠস্বর ও অবদানকে সম্মান করি এবং সমতা ও ন্যায়বিচারের পক্ষে দৃঢ় অঙ্গীকারবদ্ধ হই।

Today, we join the global community in observing International Migrants Day 2025 under the theme “My Great Story: Cultures and Development.”
This theme highlights how migration fuels development, enriches cultures, and helps communities connect, adapt, and support one another. Migrant workers carry powerful stories of resilience, skills, and contribution—stories that deserve recognition and protection.
At Awaj Foundation, we call on governments and institutions to create conditions where migrant workers can fully realize their potential and contribute meaningfully to economic and social development.
We urge action to:
🔹 Ensure living wages for all migrant workers
🔹 End exploitation by brokers and harassment at passport offices
🔹 Protect women migrant workers from sexual harassment and violence
🔹 Create special quotas for migrant workers’ families at Prabasi Kalyan Bank
🔹 Address climate-induced migration with justice, rehabilitation, and long-term solutions
No one should be left behind. Migrant voices matter, migrant stories matter, and migrant rights matter.Let us honor their journeys, amplify their voices, and work collectively toward a just, inclusive, and rights-based migration system.
Together, we can ensure dignity, equality, and justice for all migrant workers.
