ভূমি অপরাধ প্রতিরোধ ও প্রতিকার আইন, ২০২৩ এর অধীনে দায়েরকৃত একটি মামলায় বিজ্ঞ ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট আদালত আমাদের ক্লায়েন্টের বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগ গঠন করেন। উক্ত আদেশের বিরুদ্ধে আমরা সম্মানিত মহানগর দায়রা জজ আদালত, ঢাকায় ক্রিমিনাল রিভিশন দায়ের করি।

উভয় পক্ষের শুনানি শেষে সম্মানিত আদালত আমাদের উপস্থাপিত যুক্তি ও আইনগত দিকসমূহ বিবেচনা করে ক্রিমিনাল রিভিশন মঞ্জুর করেন এবং ফলস্বরূপ আমাদের ক্লায়েন্টকে মামলা থেকে অব্যাহতি প্রদান করেন। মামলা চলাকালে আমার সিনিয়র সুপ্রিম কোর্ট এর বিজ্ঞ আইনজীবী ব্যারিস্টার আরেফিন আশরাফ খান, সুপ্রীম কোর্টের বিজ্ঞ আইনজীবী নির্বান আহমেদ ও বিজ্ঞ আইনজীবী এডভোকেট কামাল উদ্দিন সার্বক্ষনিক তদারকি করেন এবং পরামর্শ প্রদান করেন।

ন্যায়বিচার প্রতিষ্ঠার এই ধারাবাহিক প্রচেষ্টায় আমরা প্রতিশ্রুতিবদ্ধ।

Over the past 7–8 years, Stellar Chambers had the privilege of working closely with him and his chambers, Shafique Ahmed & Associates, and benefitted immensely from the wisdom, guidance, and distinguished legal expertise. His contributions to the legal profession and the nation will be remembered with profound respect.

The Code of Criminal Procedure (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 2025 has introduced significant safeguards against arbitrary arrest in Bangladesh. Police are now required to clearly identify themselves, state and record the reasons for arrest, and prepare a written “Memorandum of Arrest” signed by a witness. The arrested person’s family must be informed within 12 hours, and access to a lawyer is mandatory. Arrest records will be maintained and made public, remand is capped at 15 days, and penalties are prescribed for filing false or malicious cases, marking a major step towards transparency, accountability, and protection of citizens’ rights.
