খালেদা জিয়ার মুক্তির আন্দোলন নিয়ে নিজেদের ব্যর্থতা মনে করছেন বিএনপি মহাসচিব মির্জা ফখরুল ইসলাম আলমগীর। খালেদা জিয়ার মুক্তিতে দলমত নির্বিশেষে সকলকে ঐক্যবদ্ধ করে আন্দোলন জোরদার করার আহ্বান জানান তিনি। সকালে, রাজধানীর নয়াপল্টনে গানের সিডির মোড়ক উন্মোচন অনুষ্ঠানে এসব কথা বলেন মির্জা ফখরুল। আগামী দিনের আন্দোলনের জন্য নেতাকর্মীদের সংগঠিত হওয়ার নির্দেশ দেন এই মহাসচিব। আগামী নির্বাচনে বেগম জিয়া অংশ নিলে আওয়ামী লীগের ভরাডুবি ঠেকানো যাবে না বলেও মন্তব্য করেন তিনি। তাই খালেদা জিয়াকে আটক রাখা হয়েছে বলে দাবি করেন ফখরুল।
