ARCED Foundation is looking for a Finance & Accounts Intern to join our team in Dhaka and support project archiving, financial documentation, and routine finance operations.

This internship is a great opportunity for someone who wants to gain practical experience in finance and administration while working in a research and development organization. The role will primarily involve organizing and maintaining project records, managing financial documents, supporting document archiving, and assisting the Finance & Accounts team with day-to-day tasks.

We are looking for a candidate who is organized, dependable, eager to learn, and comfortable working with Microsoft Office. Graduates in Accounting or Finance discipline are encouraged to apply.

We are hiring: Senior Research Associate / Research Coordinator

ARCED Foundation is looking for an experienced research professional to join our team in Dhaka and help lead high-quality research, evaluation, and data collection projects.

This role is for someone who enjoys the full research cycle — designing studies, coordinating with principal investigators and international partners, managing field teams, ensuring data quality, analyzing data, and turning evidence into meaningful reports and outputs.

We are looking for a candidate with strong experience in research project management, impact evaluation or large-scale research, data quality assurance, and statistical analysis. Proficiency in Stata, R, Python, and SurveyCTO/ODK is important.

A recent study by Amrita Kundu, PhD, Moogdho Mahzab, and Erica Plambeck, with field research support from ARCED Foundation, examines how an import barrier on batteries in Bangladesh affected public health and the environment.

The study finds that the import barrier contributed to the expansion of domestic battery recycling, increasing exposure to lead pollution. The health consequences were serious: the rate of miscarriages increased by 4 percentage points, and the share of pregnant women unable to deliver a live baby rose from 16 out of 100 before the import barrier to 20 out of 100 after it was in place.

These findings show why trade and industrial policies must be designed together with strong environmental regulation and public health safeguards. Policies intended to protect domestic industries can create serious risks if pollution-intensive activities expand without adequate monitoring and enforcement.
