The Prevention of Women & Children Repression Act 2000
Why the death penalty will do nothing to end impunity for r**e
Daily Star
Date: October 16, 2020

Firstly, I want to convey my respect and gratitude to the author of this article for correctly highlighting the flaws in the country's (Bangladesh) legislation for which a crime like r**e is still continuing at an alarming rate and is becoming more brazen.
The article above highlights the provisions and litigation of the Act and emphasizes on the recent reintroduction of a provision (single perpetrator). Since the author agrees and is right on the limited affect of the recent reform (death penalty ONLY as a maximum punishment), there must be a total amendment of the ordinance since most pre existing provisions nullify most presented cases. For example, the author talks about the need for witness protection and abolishing character evidence, which are provisions that must be implemented in order to get true justice under this act. Witness or Jury Tampering and Falsification of Evidence must also be included. Sexual Harassment and Hate Crimes must also be included in the litigation or prosecution. This might not stop or immediately stop these heinous crimes but this can make any potential criminal think of the ways he can get caught.
Most importantly as the author pointed out that r**e may happen and then can be hidden through intimidation by power or wealth, there must be an air of fresh civic duties (not laws but duties) promoted and encouraged by foremost the Government and then the Media. Interestingly, the problem is still ongoing (Recent incident of r**e in ).
In conclusion, this can only happen if there is a change in the current political landscape of the country as this is a topic that is linked with this debate/discussion and as there is none so there is no Accountability, there is no Humanity but most importantly there is no Justice.
Why the death penalty will do nothing to end impunity for r**e On October 13, the Women and Children Repression Prevention (Amendment) Ordinance 2020 was passed making some changes to our central law on violence against women and children.

"News and Fake News: The Great Debate"
The modern world, whether we are talking about the occurrence of any important incident, economy, politics, establishment and practice of national and international policies, law, technology or even global environmental issues and conservation policies, etc. All require the vital role of credible information in order for all the above factors to be sustainable, in their own respective sectors.
This gathering and portraying of information to the general mass came to be known as News.
The word "News" developed in the 14th century which came a long way in the form of gossips in Roman bath houses, coffee shops in England and other key public places around the world, until the 17th century Europe when Johann Carolus published the first newspaper in Germany in 1605.
Since then, the world has been gradually modernizing and portraying news in various mediums, as such that was and is available according to the time, example - TV, Radio, Internet, Newspapers etc.
As the world advanced, problems such as false news had come up, creating negative impact and controversies among the general mass and how to control them. Thus, the controversial topic came up, "News and Fake News - The Great Debate."
We will be briefly discussing about some major points that is related to this great debate.
Altering and Manipulating News:
Media manipulation currently shapes everything a person reads, hears and watches. The threats usually arise from government propagandists, hustling publicists and with modern blog and web driven media cycle, nothing can escape exaggeration, distortion, fabrication and simplification of the news.
Monopoly:
Media manipulation is also used to ensure the economic health of certain organizations, it may be due to a propaganda or other reasons. The scheme is to throw out an offer to the general mass and make it look like the most profitable source of gaining capital through fabrication.
How the mass reacts to the news according to the factor of education, which is a common ground of comparison, as other factors such as psychology and IQ differs from person to person:
The level of education of a person also depends on how the person would adjust himself/herself to the news. Basically it is the skill to acquire, filter and resonate information from source to audience, and during the process calculate the outcome of the scenario to be positive or negative. Simply put, if the person has little or no education he/she might misinterpret the information given out causing dilemma among the people he/she shares it with, causing panic, unrest to social wellbeing etc.
This debate of news and fake news will go on, as news is information and information is the key to successfully run bodies.
Media And Research Solutions will therefore compare and contrast the world wide information (whatever sector it may be in such as News, Entertainment or Business) and make it more accessible for you, the people, to truly understand and visualize the situation and events in real-time. Ultimately keeping you updated with the world along with our beloved country, Bangladesh. 🇧🇩 ✌️
