AUGUST 2 — EARTH’S LONGEST TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE IN A CENTURY

On August 2, the world will witness a breathtaking event a total solar eclipse lasting over 6 minutes, the longest of its kind in more than 100 years. During this rare phenomenon, the Moon will completely cover the Sun, turning day into night for several minutes.

The eclipse will be visible across parts of North Africa, the Middle East, and southern Europe, with the maximum totality occurring over southern Egypt, where the darkness will last for about 6 minutes and 23 seconds. The Sun’s corona will glow around the black disk of the Moon, creating a truly spectacular sight.

A PLANETARY PARADE will take place in just three days, with Saturn, Mercury, Neptune, Venus, Uranus, Jupiter, and Mars all lining up in the evening sky. This combination will not happen again this decade.

Four of them (Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, and Mars) will be visible to the naked eye, while Uranus and Neptune will require binoculars or a telescope. Saturn will be the hardest to see due to its proximity to the Sun at this time.

To observe this event, it is recommended to choose a location with minimal light pollution and clear skies. The planets will appear just after sunset.
