A mom-and-calf humpback duo surprised whale watchers off the coast of Lāhainā, Maui, by breaching the water one after another on January 20. One of the onlookers, Vicki Kysella, said, ‘Out of nowhere, Mama shocked us all with a giant breach followed by the baby’s breach right next to our boat. If you take a look at each whale’s pectoral fin you can also see the baby’s fin is much stubbier — because the baby was much closer to the boat, it looks as large as mom.’ via NowThis Earth

Kunzum Pass, is a high mountain pass in the eastern Kunzum Range of the Himalayas. It connects Lahaul valley and Spiti valley. It is on the route from Gramphoo in Lahaul to Kaza the subdivisional headquarters of Spiti. Kunzum Pass is 122 km from Manali, and 79 km from Kaza.
