Constitution Day 2025 | The Blueprint for Conducting a Peaceful Revolution
On Constitution Day, we remember Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s extraordinary vision — a belief that India’s social and economic transformation could be achieved not through violence, but through the power of democratic rights, equality, and justice. Ambedkar saw the Constitution of India, as India’s peaceful pathto revolution.
The Constitution of India provides a framework that dismantles caste oppression, expands freedoms, protects the vulnerable, and ensures dignity for every human being.
True change will come when all people use their rights, raise their voices, and build a society rooted in equality and fraternity.
Today, as we honour the Constitution, we also honour Ambedkar’s faith in democracy as a vehicle for radical, yet peaceful, transformation.
Let us renew our commitment to social justice, human dignity, and an India where every person can live with freedom and equality.

দিন দিন বাড়ছে নারীর প্রতি নির্যাতনের মাত্রা। পরিবার, সমাজ কোথাও রেহাই পাচ্ছেন না নারী। বাংলাদেশে নারীর বিরুদ্ধে সহিংসতা একটি বহুমাত্রিক সামাজিক সমস্যা। টঘঋচঅ/ইইঝ এর সর্বশেষ জরিপ ২০২৪ অনুযায়ী, গত এক বছরে ৪৯ শতাংশ নারী শারীরিক বা মানসিক সহিংসতার মুখোমুখি হয়েছেন। অধিকাংশ নারী জানেন না কোথায় অভিযোগ করতে হবে বা সহায়তা পাওয়া যাবে, যা সহিংসতা প্রতিরোধকে কঠিন করছে।
বাংলাদেশ পরিসংখ্যান ব্যুরো- বিবিএসের প্রকাশিত ‘জেন্ডার স্ট্যাটিসটিকস অব বাংলাদেশ ২০১৮’ রিপোর্ট থেকে জানা যায়, শহরের চেয়ে বেশি নির্যাতনের শিকার হচ্ছেন গ্রামের নারীরা। নির্যাতিতদের মধ্যে মধ্যবয়সী নারীই বেশি। জীবনে অন্তত একবার মানিসক নির্যাতনের শিকার হয়েছেন, দেশে এমন নারী ২৮ দশমিক ৭ শতাংশ নারী। সবচেয়ে বেশি গ্রামে, ২৯ দশমিক ৭ শতাংশ। শহরে এ হার ২৫ দশমিক ৪ শতাংশ। নির্যাতনের ট্রমা থেকে নারীরা আক্রান্ত হচ্ছেন মানসিক রোগে। বেশি মানসিক নির্যাতন করেন স্বামী। এমন ভয়াবহ তথ্য জানাচ্ছে বাংলাদেশ পরিসংখ্যান ব্যুরো (বিবিএস)। এ জরিপে দেখা যায়, বয়সের অনুপাতে ৪৫ থেকে ৪৯ বছর বয়সী নারীরা বেশি মানসিক নির্যাতনের শিকার হয়েছেন, এ হার ৩০ দশমিক ৫ শতাংশ। এছাড়া ১৫ থেকে ১৯ বছর বয়সী নারীরা কম মানসিক নির্যাতনের শিকার হয়েছেন, হার ২২ দশমিক ৪ শতাংশ।
