Good news! Due to great interest, the application deadline for Bridging Cultures Short Course 2026 has been extended by 10 days.

Bridging Cultures is a short course organized by UWC Mostar that brings together high school students from across the region to explore topics such as diversity and acceptance, identity, non-violent communication, peacebuilding, and activism through interactive workshops, discussions, and creative activities.

📍 Location: UWC Mostar premises, Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina
🗓 Dates: 22–29 June 2026
🗣 Language: English

✅ Who can apply?
• Students aged 15–18
• From Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, North Macedonia, Croatia, Kosovo, or Slovenia
• Comfortable communicating in English
• Able to participate for the full duration of the course

💰 Fees
Participation in the course is free of charge.
Accommodation, meals, and program materials are provided by the organizers. Participants are only expected to cover their transportation costs and have valid health/travel insurance for the duration of the program.

During the course, participants are supported by a team of facilitators and volunteers, and their well-being and safety are a top priority.

If you are interested in intercultural dialogue, activism, and meeting young people from across the region, this is your chance to be part of the experience 💙

Bridging Cultures is back! This June, UWC Mostar invites you to join one of its most impactful and immersive programs — Bridging Cultures – Short Course 2026 🌍

📍 Location: UWC Mostar premises, Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina
🗓 Dates: 22–29 June 2026
🗣 Language: English

This short course aims to equip young people with the skills and knowledge to bridge cultural divides and communicate effectively in diverse environments. Through the lens of the Balkans and Bosnia and Herzegovina as case studies, we will challenge perspectives on multiculturalism, conflict, and peacebuilding in post-conflict societies.

Using the framework of intersectionality, participants will explore overlapping systems of oppression that shape today’s world. Through interactive workshops, discussions, and activities, you will reflect on:

• diversity and acceptance
• identity (self & community)
• non-violent communication
• peacebuilding
• activism

You will also explore how language and the arts can create structural barriers — but also foster genuine understanding across cultures 🎭

✅ Eligibility Requirements:

• 15–18 years old at the time of the course
• From: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, North Macedonia, Croatia, Kosovo, or Slovenia
• Comfortable reading, speaking, and understanding English
• Available and committed for the full duration (22–29 June 2026)
