For the 52nd episode of the Pitchblack Podcast, we’re proud to present ._

Mario Manara, also known as MNR, is an Italian DJ based in Berlin. His journey into electronic music began in 2014, when he became actively involved in the local scene in Catania, Italy. Driven by a growing passion and artistic vision, Mario relocated to Berlin in 2018 to fully commit to his DJ path.

Since then, he has continuously refined his sound, taste, and artistic identity, evolving far beyond what once seemed possible in Italy. After several years in Berlin, MNR has become well known in the scene for his kindness, reliability, and deep dedication to music. He is also a member of Quadrant Collective.

Recently, MNR released two EPs on OHM Iceland, showcasing the dub-oriented side of his musical expression. With a strong passion for vinyl, his selections guide listeners through a smooth, hypnotic journey, driven by groove, enriched with organic dub textures, and infused with a nostalgic sense of the past.

This year, together with and , we wanted to give something back to our community.
So we’ve put together a program that includes - an exhibition of vinyl artwork, flyers, photos, and videos from 30-year career, vinyl workshop, Mostar edition of DJ Ogi’s all-night “Journey” (now in its 21st year!) and Dark Circuit vol. 5 with the Pitchblack residents.

It took us some time to process what happened on our little trip to Zagreb and Rijeka. Huge thanks to and .cmtd for having us. 🖤
Cmtd at Surogat was proper underground vibe with nice and funny people. Thanks .freyer for top level and friendly hosting at his place. 🖤
What went down in for Energetica’s 30th anniversary was honestly unforgettable. Catching up with old friends who’ve shared the same passion for underground techno sound and culture for years, and meeting new friends was truly special. Being part of the lineup for the 30-year celebration of the oldest active Croatian techno organization is something we’ll carry with us for a long, long time and it will remain engraved in our memories.
