The RNSIC was formed in June 2010. with focus to improve the quality of life of the children who live and/or work on the streets in the Region
The RNSIC was initiated in 2010 with original idea to expand in terms of member organizations included, but also in terms of positive influence on quality and scope of services for children living and/or working on the street. The RNSIC has started with 8 member organizations/institutions and currently it members 14 different non-governmental and governmental organizations and institutions in four
Balkans countries, committed to promoting and advocating for the practicing the rights of children and youth living and/or working on the street, and improving the quality of their life. RNSIC was in its founding and functioning supported by Save the Children in North-West Balkans (SCiNWB) and in that sense it has been constantly developing a system that reflects high professional standards and that is oriented toward interests of children. RNSIC member–organizations and institutions are recognized in their respective countries by outstanding results, primarily in the area of providing services of drop in/daily centers. In that sense, the Network they formed is recognized as an important potential and framework for more effective and efficient dealing with issues concerning children living and working on the street. The trust that the members have with groups of users and other stakeholders in their respective countries, as well as their broader professional reputation, have been transferred on the Network as the most important capital the Network has at its disposal. The main RNSIC target group was originally identified as “Street involved children/ Children living and/or working on the street”, the approach has been extended and now it covers also children at the risk of becoming it.
