🌟 Meet the Board: Rik Maes, Treasurer of the Aruba Association of Realtors (AAR) 🌟

Originally from the Netherlands, Rik Maes has proudly called Aruba home since the mid-1990s. His journey started with the Royal Dutch Navy, transitioned into a successful decade-long career in hospitality, and ultimately led him to real estate and property management, where he has become a trusted expert.

As the treasurer of AAR, Rik brings his deep island knowledge and dedication to excellence to the real estate community. A lifelong learner, he completed his bachelor's degree in 2020 and is now pursuing an MBA at the University of Aruba.

We are proud to have Rik on the board, contributing to the growth and success of our industry! 🙌

In the most recent press conference, the government of Aruba announced the new Covid control measures for the period starting tomorrow, December 30 until midnight on January 3:
PRIVATE RESIDENTS
1) curfew from 11pm to 5am. An exception applies for New Year's Eve (from December 31 to January 1 the curfew will only start at 02:00.
2) Recommended: do not organize/attend the festivals at home
3) Inside your house maximum 10 people visiting, outside max 25 people
BAR / RESTAURANTS
1) Closing: 10 p.m. (also on the 31st!). The only exception is hotels!
2) No live music or DJs. Restaurants can play music inside, no music allowed outside. There is no dancing.
3) All companies and their compliance officers must ensure that the rules are followed.
4) companies can light Pagaras (firecrackers) at 3:00 pm on December 31.
5) Inside F&B establishments max 8 people at a table, outdoor max 10 people at a table, and everyone have to sit at all times.
6) Max 5 people in the queue outside and social distancing
