Insider tips: Have you visited Aruba's secret cave pool? One of the most stunning places on our island, this cave is located near the Bushiribana Gold Mines Ruins and is only accessible by ATV or SUV.

Update - Natural Pool / Conchi - Aruba will reopen as of today!

**UPDATE: CONCHI OPEN AS OF 18 SEPTEMBER**

The Natural Pool (Conchi) was closed for two and a half days in conjunction with a fuel (gasoline) spillage and debris from a small boat that capsized and ran aground on the adjoining coastal area. A large, leaking tank of gasoline had washed into the Natural Pool, destroying coral, killing other marine life, and causing unsafe conditions for human visitors. Mitigation was done by FPNA pertaining to the limits of the local conditions and rough sea.

Through continued efforts of our rangers yesterday and today, there are now no more gasoline residues detected and the Natural Pool will be open again tomorrow. Although there is still some debris left in the coastal sea around the Natural Pool, we hope to be able to collect this in the coming days. Close monitoring of the marine life will continue for the time being to be able to assess the longer-term environmental damage.

De cijfers van vandaag. Helaas is er weer een ingezetene overleden aan de gevolgen van het virus. Het totaal aantal overledenen komt daarmee op 155. Sinds 1 juli zijn er nu 47 personen overleden, waarvan er acht gevaccineerd waren en 39 ongevaccineerd.
Er zijn 35 nieuwe besmettingen geconstateerd, 30 daarvan bij ingezetenen (lokale besmettingsgraad 11%). Gemiddeld zijn er 35 nieuwe gevallen per dag met een gemiddelde dagelijkse lokale besmettingsgraad van 17%. Het totaal aantal actieve gevallen bedraagt nu 377; 342 ingezetenen en 35 toeristen.
Op dit moment liggen er 25 patiënten op een IC in Colombia. Alhier liggen er negen Covid-patiënten op de IC en 27 op de Covid-afdeling.
