Why Wynnum

A couple of Saturday mornings ago, I walked into Qi Flow Studio for the very first time to attend one of their meditation sessions, not really knowing what to expect.

What happened next is exactly why I wanted to share this post.

The moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with genuine smiles and friendly hellos. Complete strangers made me feel welcome. The ladies took the time to show me around, helped me find the mats, pillows and blankets, explained how everything worked and made sure I felt comfortable and included.

When you’re walking into somewhere new on your own, that kind of welcome means everything.

From the very beginning, Qi Flow Studio felt like a safe space.

The meditation session itself was incredible. The gentleman who facilitated the class was calm, professional and created an environment where everyone felt comfortable to simply be themselves.

For me personally, it became much more than just a meditation class.

I found myself letting go of emotions and pain that I’d been holding onto for far too long. There were tears. There were tissues handed to me. There was absolutely no judgement.

Just kindness, support and acceptance.

Everyone’s experience will be different, but for me, it was powerful, healing and exactly what I needed.

In a world that can sometimes feel rushed and overwhelming, finding a place where you feel safe, welcomed and supported is something truly special.

I can honestly say I can’t wait to go back and experience more of what Qi Flow Studio has to offer.

If you’ve ever wondered what Wynnum, Manly and the Bayside looked like decades ago, this is a page worth following.

The Wynnum Manly Historical Society does an incredible job preserving and sharing the stories, photographs, people, buildings and events that have shaped our community over the years.

I’ve lost count of the number of fascinating old photos and local stories I’ve discovered through their page. It’s a wonderful reminder of how much our area has changed, while also helping ensure important pieces of our history aren’t forgotten.

Their mission is to gather and record local history before it is lost, and they’re doing an amazing job of it.

Whether you’ve lived here your whole life, recently moved to the area, or simply enjoy learning about local history, I highly recommend giving them a follow.

A big thank you to the volunteers and members who dedicate their time to preserving the history of Wynnum, Manly, Lota and the Bayside for future generations. 💙

I recently visited the Shire Markets and met some of the incredibly talented ladies connected with Scattered Arts. Not only do they create beautiful handmade products, they also teach and share their skills with the community.

I promised I’d give them a shout out because honestly, their work is amazing.

My winter beanie came from one of the talented makers connected to Scattered Arts, and everywhere I go people ask me where I got it from! It’s stylish, beautifully made, keeps my head warm, and has become my go-to this winter.

What I love most is that Scattered Arts isn’t just a shop. It’s a creative community right here in Wynnum where people can:

✨ Attend workshops
✨ Meet local artists
✨ Purchase unique handmade gifts
✨ Support local makers

My sister is already keen to visit and look at some sewing classes.
