Also, confirming that there will be no Walcha Motorcycle Rally held in 2026. This period will allow time to explore the most suitable options for the event for 2027 and beyond.
We greatly value the motorcycling community and would love to see you visit Walcha at any time of the year - there's so much to explore!

Future of the Walcha Motorcycle Rally
Walcha Council would like to share an update regarding the Walcha Motorcycle Rally.
Following the unfortunate accident during the Demolition Derby last November, Council has taken time to carefully review its involvement in the event. Our thoughts remain with those who were injured, and we sincerely wish them a full and speedy recovery.
For the past five years, Council has proudly supported the Walcha Motorcycle Rally by providing financial backing, organisational assistance and acting as the legal entity for the event. During this time, the Rally has grown into a much-loved event on the regional calendar, attracting visitors from across NSW and interstate while bringing great energy and economic activity to the Walcha community.
As the rally continues to mature and strengthen, Council believes the event is now in a strong position to move toward becoming an independent, community or industry led event. Council will work closely with the Walcha Motorcycle Rally Advisory Committee to support a possible transition in helping establish the rally under another legal entity.
While Council will be stepping back from financial underwriting and legal responsibility in the future, we remain supportive of the rally and the positive contribution it makes to Walcha’s visitor economy. Council has agreed to continue assisting with traffic management and digital promotion to help support the event moving forward.
The Walcha Motorcycle Rally has been built through the passion, commitment and collaboration of many people across the community. Council acknowledges the significant effort of the Rally Advisory Committee, volunteers, businesses, attendees, sponsors and supporters who have contributed to establishing the event and growing its reputation as a unique regional gathering for motorcycle enthusiasts.
While there will be no Walcha Motorcycle Rally staged in 2026, we look forward to seeing its continued success in the years ahead, as options are explored for another organisation or group to lead the Rally into its next chapter.
Walcha is a spectacular destination for motorcycle touring, and the Walcha Motorcycle Rally plays an important role in showcasing the region to riders from across Australia.

Missed this one at the 2025 Walcha Motorcycle Rally Q&A Sessions? You’ll want to hit play. 🏍🎥
ADV Brett sat down with Ben Felten — Guinness World Record holder for the fastest speed on a motorcycle by a blind person (266.716 km/h).
Guided by former MotoGP rider Kevin “Magoo” Magee via radio comms, Ben made history on the salt flats of Lake Gairdner in 2018. But as you’ll hear in this interview, it’s not just about speed — it’s about mindset, teamwork, resilience, and backing yourself when the odds say otherwise.
Founder of Blind Speed and In Sight of Dreams, Ben’s story was one of the most powerful moments of this year’s rally.
