A change of scenery this weekend as we head north to QLD, running in the feature race at Doomben; R8 - Tattersall’s Recognition Stakes over 1350m. It’s our first attempt at Black Type races and we’re excited to see how Lisztomania performs against this class of field. We’ve had 1 start at Doomben for 1 placing and with Lisztomania going as good as ever during track work, we’re in with every chance!!
Desert Cougar has won 3 out of her last 4 starts, and her performance yesterday at Armidale was another impressive one. Coming 6 wide around the turn, she knuckled down in the straight to fly home and grab the prize right on the line yesterday in race 6 over 1100m

We’re running tomorrow in the $250,000 Barn Dance at Randwick race 6. We’ve unfortunately drawn the car park yet again but are hopeful of a finding a good position in running and giving Lisztomania every chance in the finish. The local paparazzi caught a glimpse of our boy today having a nibble on some Randwick delicacies whilst talking race tactics with his owner Mark and his trainer, Toddy. He’s travelled down great and is ready for another big showing at his favourite track. Go boy!

A great trial this morning by Lisztomania over 900m at Newcastle. He did everything he needed to, and seemed to show little bit extra in the last 100m. Toddy and the team are extremely happy with how he’s travelling. Lisztomania will have a fairly relaxed final few weeks soaking up the warming Spring conditions at home in Inverell, before we head down and take on the Kosciuszko on October 18 at Randwick!

We’ve been selected and are off to the Big Smoke for the 2 million dollar Kosciuszko. Giddy up!
Country Championships runner-up Lisztomania has an affinity with Randwick and he'll be taking his trainer Todd Payne to with Coonabarabran's Blake Palmer selecting the consistent gelding. 👇
With the Kosciuszko tickets being drawn this morning, we have everything crossed that we get a chance to run in the race. If there’s anyone deserving of a start in the race, it’s Lisztomania. His impeccable Randwick form (6 starts-1 first-4 seconds-1 third) against arguably some of the best country horses in the state, to his ever so close finish in the final of the Country Championships against Knowthyself by a measly 0.04L. Knowthyself then went on to win a Listed race the very next start. Here’s a great interview with Toddy Payne earlier in the week to give you some insight into how Lisztomania has been working.
Upwards of 30cm has fallen across the farm with our mares enjoying roaming through their fluffy white paddocks.

One of the biggest snowstorms to hit TAMAC and the New England District in recent memory. Our horses are always very inquisitive when their paddocks turn fluffy and white. We sure breed them tough up in the high country!
A great story showcasing the dedication Toddy and his team have with our horse, but also what the race means for country trainers and owners alike! Now to cross our fingers that we get an opportunity to start in the Kosciusko.
