Dry conditions across the state, combined with strong winds forecast for this weekend, significantly heighten the risk of fires spreading out of control. If you are planning any fire activity, from a campfire to a backyard pile burn or broad acre burn, please consider conditions before burning commences.
When lighting a burn, ensure you have a responsible person in attendance, water or suitable fire extinguisher available, and regularly check afterwards to ensure it is fully extinguished.

Here we are again at the Woolies complex. Thought about joining CFS. Are you from Victor, Encounter Bay, Back Valley, Waitpinga, Hindmarsh Valley? Drop by and have a chat or come to our Open Day Sunday May 19.
Today we recognise “international firefighters day.”
Firefighters dedicate their lives to the protection of life and property. Sometimes that dedication is in the form of countless hours volunteered over many years, in others it is many selfless years working in the industry. In all cases it risks the ultimate sacrifice of a firefighter’s life.
International Firefighters’ Day is a time where the world’s community can recognise and honour the sacrifices that firefighters make to ensure that their communities and environment are as safe as possible. It is also a day in which current and past firefighters can be thanked for their contributions.
Thank you to all our Waitpinga fire fighters for your countless hours of dedication to our community. 🚒❤️

After 18 months of applying for grants and trying to secure funding, on Monday night the Waitpinga brigade received a stokes litter. This has been possible through a grant from the local rotary group and also the CFS foundation. The stokes litter has been installed on our Waitpinga 44 appliance and will be a great assistance for patient lift responses. A big thank you to Rotary Victor Harbor and the CFS Foundation for the funding to make this all possible.
