UPDATE: This Emergency Alert has been cancelled.
EARLIER: An Emergency Alert Take Shelter Now has been issued to LAIDLEY area from the LOCKYER VALLEY REGIONAL COUNCIL as at 10pm on Sunday, March 9.
Council advises dangerous flooding is likely to occur in the area in the coming hours, and urges LAIDLEY residents to Take Shelter Now. Warn neighbours, secure belongings and take safe shelter, go to higher ground or leave the area.

An Emergency Alert Watch and Act has been issued to Jandowae Creek from the Western Down Regional Council area.
Council advises Jandowae Dam spillway has exceeded the moderate flood level of 0.5m and flooding is occurring in the area. Residents are urged to Prepare Now.

Weather Situation: An inland trough and embedded low are combining with unstable air to produce large areas of thunderstorm activity during the evening.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and damaging winds over the next several hours in parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields and Central West districts. Locations which may be affected include Clermont, Capella and Elgin Downs.

56 mm was recorded at South Kariboe Creek in the 1 hour to 6:36 pm.

49 mm was recorded at Injune in the 1 hour to 1:00 pm.
Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.

Severe thunderstorms are no longer affecting the Southeast Queensland area (east of Dalby from Rainbow Beach to Stanthorpe). The immediate threat of severe thunderstorms has passed, but the situation will continue to be monitored and further warnings will be issued if necessary.
Emergency services advise people to:
* Never drive, walk, play or ride through floodwater. It is dangerous.
* Stay away from storm water drains.
* Stay away from fallen powerlines.
* Drive slowly and never drive through floodwaters. If the road is flooded or damaged, go another way.

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 9:35 pm, a severe thunderstorm likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding was detected near the area southeast of Warwick and Murray Bridge. This thunderstorm is moving towards the northwest. It is forecast to affect Warwick, the area east of Warwick and the area northeast of Warwick by 10:05 pm and the area north of Warwick, Cunninghams Gap and Moogerah Dam by 10:35 pm.

This thunderstorm is moving towards the north. It is forecast to affect Warwick, the area southeast of Warwick and Murray Bridge by 9:20 pm and the area east of Warwick and the area northeast of Warwick by 9:50 pm.
