10-1-26 Bushfire Moorebank

This afternoon Fire & Rescue NSW crews responded to a Bush Fire along the Georges River at Moorebank in Sydney’s South West. Facing 41° heat with 45kph winds, crews arrived to find a fast moving bush and grass fire, with several hundred metres of fire front heading towards a large industrial estate and numerous warehouses.

Firefighters worked to defend the warehouses from the fire front, with crews being impacted by heavy smoke and significant showers of embers, which ignited the yard of one warehouse including several large containers. Once the threat to properties was brought under control, crews worked to chase the flanks of the fire through the grassland, successfully boxing the fire in against the river and bringing it under control after two hours of firefighting. Crews remain on scene working through the scrub to fully extinguish the fire.

Petrol Station Fire Fairfield 9-12-25

This afternoon Fire & Rescue NSW crews responded to a fire in a petrol station on Hamilton Road at Fairfield. Crews arrived to find the petrol station well alight, with numerous gas cylinders on fire and fire spreading into a workshop building which quickly became fully involved. With numerous further buildings under threat breathing apparatus crews worked to contain the fire with hoselines and ground monitors, successfully preventing it from spreading any further. Crews remain on scene continuing to extinguish the fire

Factory Fire North St Marys 29-11-25

Just before 11pm last night Fire & Rescue NSW crews responded to a Factory Fire on Kurrajong Road at North St Marys. Crews arrived to find a large chemical factory fully involved in fire, with numerous explosions sending flames over 100 metres into the air. As the fire spread to numerous surrounding buildings, firefighters set up around the complex to cut the fire off and contain it's spread. Breathing apparatus crews worked with hoselines, ground monitors and 5 aerial appliances, being fed by numerous water relays and bulk water tanker shuttles. The fire is now contained from further spread but crews remain on scene extinguishing.

Building Fire Marrickville 24-11-25

Just after 6am this morning Fire & Rescue NSW crews responded to an automatic fire alarm at a commercial bakery on Barclay Street at Marrickville. Crews arrived to find large volumes of smoke issuing from the building, with a significant fire spreading through the structure.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus entered the building and attempted to control the fire, but were forced out by heavy fire as parts of the building began to collapse. Firefighters were hampered by lack of water and numerous water relays were set up to pump water to the incident. Crews used multiple hoselines, three ground monitors and two ladder platforms to contain the fire, saving the adjoining factories attached to the building.

Building Fire Regents Park 16-11-25

This afternoon Fire & Rescue NSW crews responded to a fire on Rose Crescent at Regents Park. Crews arrived to find part of a commercial building and outside storage area alight, with fire spreading into surrounding buildings including homes and apartments with people inside. Firefighters in breathing apparatus worked to cut the fire off from spreading whilst searches and evacuations were made of the surrounding buildings.

Breathing apparatus crews successfully rescued multiple people who were treated by NSW Ambulance and transported to hospital. The fire was able to be largely contained to the originally involved occupancies, with crews remaining on scene to continue extinguishment.

Building Fire Wetherill Park 12-11-25

Just after midnight this morning Fire & Rescue NSW crews responded to a Building Fire on Polding Street at Wetherill Park. Crews arrived to find a restaurant within the Stockland Mall complex totally involved in fire, with large volumes of smoke and flame coming from the building and parts of the structure beginning to collapse. Firefighters in breathing apparatus worked with hoselines, ground monitors and a Ladder Platform to control the fire and protect an adjoining apartment block as well as the rest of the Stocklands complex, which were successfully saved.

27-10-25 Building Fire Spring Farm

This morning Fire & Rescue NSW and NSW Rural Fire Service crews responded to an Automatic Fire Alarm and 000 call for a fire in the Veolia Resource Recovery Park at Spring Farm. Crews arrived to find a fire in a large building filled with several hundred tonnes of rubbish, with heavy smoke pouring from the structure and intense fire spreading through the building.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus entered the building and worked with hoselines to try and cut the fire off from spreading into the rest of the complex. Crews were hampered by major water supply issues, with multiple bulk water carriers required as well as a water shuttle using tankers to ferry water to the fireground. Once sufficient water was on site crews were able to use multiple aerial appliances and ground monitors to control the fire. Breathing apparatus crews then worked with on site heavy machinery to pull apart the tonnes of rubbish and extinguish the fire, which took several hours.

22-10-25 House Fire Henry Lawson Drive, Milperra

Fire involving large piles of rubbish, an abandoned house and surrounding bushland in high winds. Firefighters were able to contain the fire before a serious bushfire took hold and extinguish the remains of the abandoned building.
