I cannot believe this is potentially our next treasurer of Australia. He doesn't have a grasp of the smallest issues and is going to ruin the broker industry and probably the whole economy. Think before you vote.

Commissions ban 'absolute rubbish': Medcraft The former ASIC chairman has described the call for broker commissioners to be banned as "absolute rubbish" and says giving more work to courts could backfire as they work too slowly.
The federal budget tonight was measured, fair and responsible. Frydenberg could have gone crazy and promised the world to win votes..... but didn’t. This shows a government that has put the future of our country ahead of vote buying. I wish them the best in the upcoming election.

We are starting to see common sense with both sides of politics taking a long hard look and the Hayne (commonwealth Bank) recommendations for a consumer pay model for mortgage broker payments. CBA’s CEO suggest we adopt the Netherlands model! Look at the difference in geographic size between Australia and Netherlands. Tell me who will support regional and rural Aussies? Who will service smaller cheaper metro suburbs? Without broker introduced competition service will suffer and cost will go up.

As a broker, I believe in my heart that the Royal Commission into "Banking Misconduct" was a stitch up of brokers. Hayne was used as a puppet for the banks to exterminate brokers from the Australian Mortgage Landscape. The losers will be the 75,000 people who work directly in this vibrant industry, the 17,000 small businesses and ultimately the consumer. The consumer will lose choice and by the attrition/ consolidation of lenders pay more as competition evaporates.
Note form one of my great and loyal clients

On mortgage brokers: the Royal Commission has this wrong The Royal Commission has been a ripper but its plans for mortgage brokers is simply crazy and I hope Bill Shorten can see this.
