It's day five of the NFR countdown and today we are highlighting Mr. Revolution Bars!
I found Rev after he was brought to the Josey Jr World Barrel Race. He was owned by a family that had just used him for some playdays before they brought him to the Jr World Barrel Race at the Josey Ranch. He came out the gate for his first run and won the whole first go. I tried to buy him that weekend but they wouldn’t sell him. They came back the next year and hit a barrel on him and I bought him.
Rev was a great horse because he was very skilled at running on both big and small patterns. I loved the way he would "hunt" barrels and turn in a perfect circle with just a little inside rein. He was incredibly automatic.
Rev and I qualified for the NFR in 1989 and 1990 making my new record of qualifying for the NFR in four consecutive decades.
