My dearest Coco drew her last breath at home with me by her side. She died a very gentle natural death.

She spent her entire life with me since May 2008, from the moment she was born in my Singapore bedroom to her passing in Cairns today.

We lived in four countries together and shared many ups and downs in our lives.

She will be missed. She was a sweet little cat who always knew what she liked and disliked, and wasn't afraid to let you know.

She was very brave towards the end of her life and was still very aware of her surroundings. She looked very cute all the way to end.

She's been on a diet since December 2011. She lived 17 years and four months. She could have lived a bit longer if not for her unfortunate reaction to .

Goodbye my Coco. You will forever live on in my heart.

My little Coco was discharged from the vet hospital yesterday afternoon because the vets said there was nothing more they could do for her.

Her kidneys have failed. I managed to get a refund of the jab from my vet due to the adverse reaction, but that is pretty much pointless right now.

To say is not 100% accurate because it was given to my cat without my informed consent and a blood test to rule out any underlying conditions that could cause complications.

I would like to spend the remaining days of Coco's life by giving her lots of love, care and dignity. It has been a blessing to have her for the past 17 years.

She is not the most affectionate cat, but she has a very sweet and gentle personality. However, she's the fussiest cat I've ever had and can be quite hard to please.

I hope that you learn something from Coco because it is important to know what informed consent means and what is a vet's standard of care.

We are told to trust doctors and the science. However, some doctors can be very pushy, do the wrong thing and cause irreparable harm.

I took my little Coco to my vet clinic on 4 October 2025 to see if she had a urinary tract infection after getting her urine analysed the day before.

She was not urinating in her litter box, and the vet told me it was likely due to her causing her to struggle to walk to the litter box in time to wee.

I was recommended to give her to help her with her arthritis. I expressed concerns about side effects, but my vet told me it was safe and should help her arthritis joint pain.

I asked whether we need a new blood test because our last one was in February 2025. That was brushed aside too.

I should have listened to my gut, but decided to trust my doctor.

Coco appeared fine the first few days after the jab. I noticed her front right leg was looking deformed, but wasn't sure if that could have happened in the last few days. Her appetite dropped for a few days, but she still ate half of her usual daily food. I looked online for possible side effects and loss of appetite was one of them, but I was hoping it would clear up in a few days.

Unfortunately, her appetite didn't recover and she ate almost nothing. That's when I realised something was terribly wrong.

She was admitted to the my vet's hospital on 14 October, and is still there at the time of this posting.

She's been diagnosed with kidney disease and a urinary tract infection. Doctors are trying to save her by giving her antibiotics through an IV drip.

There really should have been a blood test to check for underlying issues before giving Coco a new drug for her arthritis. I was never told of all the possible side effects of to make an informed decision.

I feel partially responsible for allowing the doctor to push this new drug on Coco even when my gut was against it.

I am in tears.

What have I done?

Can my little Coco pull through this?

There's a very mean giant trying to squeeze out of the market in Australia at the moment.

We are disappointed with for supplying this giant behind our back, but it is their right to do so even though it was vpets who first brought their products into Australia and established their Benevo brand here.

We can't compete against this giant based on price alone because we're a business that sells only vegan pet food to survive.

The giant on the other hand does not follow vegan ethical standards and makes most of their money selling meat-based pet food. They don't really need to sell vegan pet food to survive.

They will soon realise that there's easier and more money to be made by selling meat-based pet food. Their greed to expand into the vegan space will fail once they realise they have spent too much and priced their products too low.

Will you support the vegan ginger cat or the big mean giant?

The choice is yours.

It is with great sadness that I'm sharing the news of the passing of my beloved dog, Rocky, this afternoon.

He has been suffering from canine dementia for a little over a year and his health has been on a steady decline since June 2024.

He was raised on diet and has been a great companion and protector for me for the past 15 years. He lived to 15.5 years avoiding all major illnesses but stumbled at the "final hurdle" of dementia.

I am comforted by the fact that he passed away naturally and gently in deep sleep after falling into a coma on Monday.

He's an amazingly friendly, tough and loyal dog who will be missed.

Goodbye my good friend. πŸ•πŸ˜’
