Comedy Lab Newtown

Last night the Hilarium Sydney comedy club finished up its contract with Sydney Fringe Festival and have closed its doors for now (don't worry, we will pop up again soon). It was a fun and awesome experience for all involved.

Just a big thank you from Dean Haglund (the Canadian one) and Seizure Kaiser (scary one in the jacket) to all the following people who in turn had (as of last night) made 3000+ people walk through our doors

Weekly on Mondays from 11th September at Hilarium (Level 4, Old Rum Building)

Just a quick post to say thank you for supporting the lab's page. It's been a long hiatus and we are still looking for the perfect late night venue. In the meantime check out all the great Sydney open mic rooms via Comedy Rooms of Australia's group.

Hi Comedy Lab fans and comics alike. We are sorry that again there is no comedy lab this week but please read on.

We are still a new comedy room and we have a unique location at The Old 505 Theatre in Newtown and we love this as we know you all do however hosting a comedy room at an independant (and fantastic) theatre is very different to a pub.

In order for The Old 505 to justify staying open an extra two hours after a play every Thursday night they need to hit bar targets.

We know all of you have been coming, cracking funnies, buying drinks and supporting the room and that is why we want to keep the venue however we are taking a short break for a few weeks to sit down and have a chat with the venue who are very happy to have late night stand up comedy. The sign up is cancelled for now but please like and follow this page because we will update you.

We will be back and where else in Sydney can you always get a two-person standing ovation?
