π° PET RABBIT OWNERS! PLEASE READ! π°
The NSW government has issued an alert to rabbit owners about releasing a rabbit calicivirus strain (RHDV1-K5) to control wild rabbits on the first week of March 2025. It will occur in Greater Sydney Local Government areas, including the Central Coast. We urge rabbit owners to vaccinate their rabbits before MARCH 1.
Rabbit calicivirus is transmitted through biting insects (e.g mosquitoes/biting flies) and various form of contact. Risks include owners walking through infected areas and collecting grass exposed to wild rabbits. As such, both indoor and outdoor rabbits should be vaccinated.
The virus targets the liver and is most often fatal. The most common symptoms include lethargy, inappetence, and decreased defecation. Other symptoms that can also be seen include; pale gums, breathing difficulty, nose bleeds or bleeding from other orifices.
Arrange a booking to vaccinate your pet rabbit before March 1. Contact us on (02) 4733 3456.

We understand the temptation to indulge our pets during Christmas with the various delicious foods we enjoy, but here is a list of toxic foods to avoid!
If you witness your pet consuming something it shouldn't, please contact us. We are open 24/7 over the Christmas and New Year break.
Please protect your pets from the heat this summer!
Do ensure that they have access to large amounts of water (buy some bowls that cannot be knocked over), cool shaded area to rest, and air conditioning if they are brachycephalic. A half shell pool of water is also a great idea.
Donβt walk them during the day and take extra care during walks at any time.
Donβt put them in enclosed spaces without air conditioning.
