It is with very heavy hearts that we share that little Winky has passed away.

When Winky arrived in our care, he was a very sick little kitten. We knew he was facing an uphill battle, but for a little while we dared to hope he might pull off a miracle. He started getting hangry, making his opinions known, and showing us flashes of the cheeky little kitten he should have had the chance to become.

Despite veterinary treatment, medications, fluids, round-the-clock nursing care, warm beds and all the love we could give him, his tiny body simply couldn’t keep fighting.

We are heartbroken, but we take comfort in knowing that Winky spent his final days safe, warm, comfortable and surrounded by people who loved him fiercely. He knew gentle hands, soft blankets, full bellies, and the security of being cared for.

Not every rescue story has the ending we hope for, and these losses never get easier. But every kitten deserves a chance, and every kitten deserves kindness, no matter how short their journey may be.

Thank you to everyone who followed Winky’s story, sent messages of support, donated, and kept him in your thoughts. It meant more than you know.

Sleep softly, little man. You were loved by so many people in such a short time, and you leave behind a paw print far bigger than your tiny size would suggest.

Sleep tight, little Winky 🌈 🪽 🐾

Productivity levels: questionable.
Kitten cuddle levels: 10/10.

And the best bit? Star and Twinkle (tuxedo and black) are still looking for their forever families and are available on a foster-to-adopt basis while they finish their vet work. ✨

If you’ve been thinking about adding a little sparkle to your home, now might be the perfect time. 💫

Little Winky (or as he has affectionately become known… Stinky Winky 😜) is starting to turn a corner.

He is definitely not out of the woods yet, but for the first time we are feeling cautiously optimistic that our tiny fighter is heading in the right direction.

One of the best signs? He’s discovered that being hungry is an outrage and is making sure everyone knows about it! 📢🐾

After a very rough start, seeing this little guy get hangry, demand food, and find the energy to complain about the service is exactly what we wanted to see.

He’s still got a way to go, but we’re celebrating the small wins and taking things one day at a time.

Thank you to everyone who has been cheering him on, sending good wishes, and keeping your fingers and paws crossed for him. ❤️

Keep fighting, little mate. We’re all rooting for you.

Winky update! 🤍

Little fella is still fighting.

He needs a bit of help with eating and staying hydrated, and has some pretty nasty scalding on his poor little butt. He’s officially finished his coccidia meds though, so today he got the full spa treatment — complete room reset and a bath.

To say he was disgusted would be an understatement.
It definitely woke him up though… and he made his feelings VERY clear. 😤

The good news is he’s still showing plenty of spirit, which we’re taking as a win.

If all continues to go well, this tiny warrior will come home with Laura tomorrow for some around-the-clock home nurse care while he continues his healing journey. 🐾

Update on Winky 💙

A huge thank you to lovely Fiona for delivering our precious tiny cargo safely to Parkes Street Vet early this morning.

To be completely honest — Winky was in trouble. A very unwell little dude battling coccidia, and for a while there, we were very worried we might lose him.

Legend Dr Prue managed to get an IV in, and after fluids and supportive care, our tiny fighter is starting to perk up.

We’re feeling cautiously optimistic that we can get this little guy through.

If you could spare some crossed fingers, crossed paws, and good thoughts for Winky today, we’d really appreciate it 🤍

Edit: sorted thank you.

Tiny passenger. Slightly less tiny favour requested. 🚗🐾

Can anyone help with transport from Condell Park to Thornleigh tomorrow?

We need to get this little one into care safely. Please and thank you 🙏🏻
