A bottle of Barolo in 2005 was all it took and Aphelion was destined to be. Rob & Lou Mack have a goal to 'bottle sunshine' hence the name Aphelion, which is ancient Greek for ‘from the sun'. Established in McLaren Vale in 2014, Rob and Lou began their journey with passion and belief. The Macks handcraft a delicious range of wines with a love and focus for Grenache, a range of single site expressions, and a mix of Mediterranean varieties that shine in the McLaren Vale sun. We have always been impressed by their wines and have supported Alphelion since we opened in our 'by the glass' programme. We are super excited to have Rob joining us at Knird to share his journey, his stories and his wine with you. As always seats are very limited and will sell fast.

Knird, Crows Nest The COVID grinch strikes again just before Christmas and we were searching for a venue with outdoor seating that we could get together with Queen Viv and Miss America. And that was Knird, a small bar in Crows Nest with an outdoor section and a range of snacks from small to substantial.
