🐾 Why don’t ethical breeders let kittens leave early?
It’s a question we get asked quite often…
While kittens may seem independent by 8 weeks of age, there’s still a lot of important development happening behind the scenes.
Between 8–12 weeks, kittens continue learning:
✨ Social skills from mum and littermates
✨ Appropriate play behaviour and bite inhibition
✨ Confidence and resilience
✨ Good litter tray habits
✨ How to cope with new experiences
This is also the time when many ethical breeders complete important health care, including vaccinations, microchipping and early desexing before kittens join their new families.
Those extra few weeks aren’t just about growing bigger.. they’re about giving kittens the best possible start in life.
At Kdolls, our kittens leave at 12 weeks of age after they’ve had time to develop both physically and emotionally.
💜 What do you think is the most important thing a kitten learns from its mum and littermates before going home?

🐾 Tabby vs Non-Tabby Ragdolls .. What’s the Difference? 🐾
One of the most common misconceptions I hear is:
“I thought tabby was a breed of cat.”
While many people use the word tabby as though it’s a breed, it’s actually not a breed at all. Tabby refers to a coat pattern caused by the Agouti (A) gene, which allows the striping pattern to be visible within the coat.
In Ragdolls, tabby is often referred to as a Lynx pattern.
🐱 Tabby (Lynx) Ragdolls
A tabby Ragdoll carries the Agouti gene and will display visible striping throughout the coat.
Common features include:
✔️ Distinct “M” marking on the forehead
✔️ Stripes around the eyes and cheeks
✔️ Ringed/striped legs and tail
✔️ White “spectacles” or “eyeliner” around the eyes
✔️ Additional striping and pattern throughout the coat
🐱 Non-Tabby Ragdolls
Non-tabby Ragdolls do not carry the visible tabby pattern. Their markings appear smoother and more uniform creating the classic appearance many people associate with the breed.
✔️ Solid coloured mask
✔️ No forehead “M” marking
✔️ No visible striping on the face, legs or tail
✔️ Cleaner, more uniform point colour
💜 Are you team Tabby (Lynx) or Non-Tabby?

This gorgeous blue bicolour girl is every bit as sweet as her name suggests.
She has such a beautiful gentle nature already and absolutely melts into your arms for cuddles. Tiny, soft and full of personality.
I know her mum is beyond excited to finally meet her little girl and I honestly can’t wait for that special day either 🥹

Happy International Ragdoll Day 🤍
There’s something really special about this breed… the way they follow you from room to room, flop into your arms, and look at you like you’re their whole world.
Ragdolls are often called the “dogs of the cat world” and honestly, it couldn’t be more true. They’re affectionate, gentle, and thrive on being part of the family.
Behind every one of my babies is so much intention. Health, temperament and how they’re raised will always come first here. Watching them grow into confident, loving companions and then seeing that continue on in their new homes is the most rewarding part of what I do.
To all of my Kdolls families, thank you for loving these beautiful souls as much as I do. I love seeing your updates and watching them grow.
Give your Ragdoll an extra cuddle from me today 🤍
