How do you keep your dog from escaping😱?

A friend of mine has a Beagle and last year he escaped and started running like crazy until he reached a farm many kilometres away from home.

My friend looked desperately for him for hours and with the help of the community, she found him and brought him home.

To prevent escapes, you'll need to find out how your dog is getting out of the yard, and more importantly, why they are so determined to get out.

One of the most common reasons is they are left alone for long periods or their environment is relatively barren.

Does your dog hate water🌊?

If a dog is afraid of water, it may be because he had a bad experience when he was younger😞.

Another reason your dog may be afraid of water is that he doesn't know what it is🤷‍♀️.

There are ways to get your dog used to water💦!

You can train him to be accepting of water gradually, using patience, understanding, praise and dog treats if necessary.

If you are a dog owner, we guess you have heard this rule:
One year for your dog equals 7 years for you.

The reality is that the math isn't that simple🤔.
Dogs mature more quickly than we do early on.

So the first year of your fuzzy friend's life is equal to about 15 human years, year two for a dog equals about 9 years for a human. And after that, each human year would be approximately 5 years for a dog.

Do puppies get their colour from Mummy or Daddy?

Well, genes have pairs of alleles (one from each parent) that are located at specific sites on a chromosome.

When dogs breed, the mother and father each randomly contribute one allele from each locus, giving each allele a 50% chance of being passed on to the pups.

This is why our little friend is black and white⚪🖤⚪!
