A coastal girl dreaming of cool

This bookcase took me waaaaaay too long. Does anyone else fuss and touch-up and re-sand (and procrastinate) and repaint their way through some pieces? That was me with this one 🙋🏻‍♀️🙈 And I have to say, painting a large bookshelf wasn’t fun. Too many corners and nooks and crannies!! But she’s finished now and she proved to be very popular on Marketplace. It looks like she’ll be sold today! 🤞🏻

She’s so tall that it was hard to get pictures of the whole piece at once.

And swipe to see the only ‘before’ shot I got 🤦🏻‍♀️👉🏻

Liner love 🥰

I selected a sheet of scrapbooking paper for this one. I love having that little point of difference that a drawer liner gives.

I’m such a sucker for distressed black furniture. This little hall table was in pretty rough shape but had gorgeous details and was solid structurally, so it was a perfect candidate for some black chalk paint & light distressing.

Painted in Annie Sloan Athenian Black, then lightly distressed, sealed with AS black wax, distressed some more and then finished off with AS clear wax. I sealed the top with clear poly so it’s super durable.

It sold so quickly! And has now gone to its new home 🖤

Sneak peek of this rustic beauty.

I’ve been a little M.I.A. lately, as we’ve been working on lots of house projects. But I have heaps of new pieces coming up! Starting with this one 🖤

I wanted to add some interest to this single bedside I had, so I did raised stenciling on the fronts of the drawers. Now with a fresh lick of paint and new k***s she’s ready for a new home 💚

[SOLD] I’ve been wanting to try this style for a long time and finally got around to it! This was a plain little table with timber legs and a chipboard top with very thin veneer, so it was a good candidate for trying out something new. I learned a lot in this process, as always 😁

A close up of some custom bedsides I completed for a client using Annie Sloan Pure White chalk paint. I lightly distressed them and sealed them with Annie Sloan clear wax, AND I used the small Annie Sloan wax brush for the first time. The shape of the handle, dense bristles and pointed tip made it so easy! Thoroughly enjoyed using it and it’s now my go-to wax brush 🙌🏻 (Not sponsored. Just a fan 😆)

All Annie Sloan products purchased from the lovely . If you’re local to the Sunny Coast you really need to check them out!

More photos of this pair to come 👯‍♀️

[Available] This little cutie has been hanging out in my garage for awhile, just waiting for a new look 🤗

I used Bonzai green semi-gloss enamel paint, and lined the drawer with pretty black & white wallpaper.

This rustic little number was painted in Annie Sloan Pure White chalk paint, lightly distressed and sealed with Annie Sloan clear wax. It’s been fun working on some chippy-style pieces for a change! I also used decorative tropical leaf paper to spruce up the sides of the drawers 🌿
