Kingspan Insulation K10 50mm continuous exterior Insulation installation complete at our West Kalgoorlie Project. Combined with CSR Bradfords R2.5 Acoustic Polymax Insulation, the roof and wall envelope will Achieve an R value Greater than R5.0.

Combined with an airtight envelope utilising James Hardie’s Rigid air barrier (Rab Board) and all joints and nails sealed with Sudal’s Flex and Seal (a modified polymer sealant that is permanently flexible), this building will not only sustain a comfortable indoor air temperature whilst using minimal air conditioning energy consumption, but along with being integrated with the IQ AIR perfect 16 HEPA filtration system and the Zehnder Comfoair Q600 Heat Recovery Ventilation system, this building’s occupants will be able to breathe in HEPA quality indoor air continually throughout each work day.

Continuous exterior insulation incorporating a radiant barrier (with the required min. 20mm air gap, in this case 35mm) will always outperform batt insulation. Combined with an airtight rigid air barrier below, this building is going to outperform any commercial building in the goldfields.

By constructing the roof trusses on the ground (combined with installing the purlins and sheeting the roof) prior to erecting steel columns, is not only a much safer alternative as it eliminates the requirements for fall arrest harnesses and barrier edge protection, but is also up to 50% faster in total er****on timelines.
Not only is it an impressive site that we will never get tired of watching, our clients loved that we were able to meet and exceed their construction timelines, but also whilst utilising future thinking building methods and safe building practices.

Installation of our K12 and K10 50mm rigid foam continuous exterior insulation. This insulation, combined with 45mm battens thermally broken via James Hardie thermal break strips creates a an R5.2 roof insulation.
Combining the roof area into the thermal envelope allows for the air conditioning units to be inside the conditioned space, therefore eliminating any opportunity for air conditioning ducts to be exposed to average Australian roof cavity temperatures exceeding 60degrees throughout our summer.
