From July 2026, the NDIS will no longer accept functional assessments to determine your support needs. Instead, the I‑CAN Support Needs Assessment will become the standard tool used to determine participant support needs and be conducted by the NDIA with an adapted version of the tool.

At Yellowbird, we’re already preparing to make this transition seamless for you:
✨ We will soon have accredited I‑CAN Assessors (Registered Psychologist) on our team.
✨ Where clinically indicated, we will also use additional assessment tools to ensure a complete and accurate picture of your needs.
✨ Every assessment will be jointly reviewed and co‑signed by both the accredited I‑CAN Assessor and an Occupational Therapist at Yellowbird.
✨ This means your reports will be comprehensive, clinically sound, and NDIS‑ready—giving you the best chance of having your support needs accurately documented and recognised.
