📣 Moreton Kids Festival: Cancelled

Unfortunately, this week’s wet weather has put a dampener on the fun, and Moreton Kids Festival scheduled for Sunday, 14 June 2026 has been cancelled.

The safety of attendees, staff, volunteers, performers and event partners remains the highest priority, and this week's weather conditions have made the state of the grounds unsafe to proceed.

We know this news is disappointing for many families and the community. We would like to thank you for your understanding and support ❤️

We can’t wait to welcome you all back in 2027! ✨

💚 Crusty’s Rescue 💚

After three weeks of daily monitoring, we were finally at the point where Crusty can be safely rescued and receive the care he needs.

Three weeks might not sound like a long time, but for our team of dedicated volunteers, who live across Moreton Bay and North Brisbane, it has meant countless hours, kilometres travelled, and a huge commitment of time and resources. With the rising cost of fuel and living expenses, their dedication has been nothing short of incredible.

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who kept an eye out for Crusty, shared updates, reported sightings, and supported our team throughout this rescue effort. We truly couldn’t do it without our community. 💚

Now the focus turns to Crusty’s recovery. Please keep your fingers and toes crossed that this sweet boy makes a speedy recovery and is back to feeling his best as soon as possible. 🤞🐨

Thank you for caring. Every rescue is a team effort, and Crusty is proof of what can be achieved when a community comes together.

Shervy is still thriving! 💚

We hadn’t seen him since 2023, so finding him happy, healthy, and relaxed was truly amazing.

💚 Update on Mr. Bucket 💔

Sadly, little Mr. Bucket has crossed the rainbow bridge. 🌈

At just 2 years old, he was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive bone disease that was destroying the bone in his leg. 🥺

While it’s heartbreaking to lose him so young, we take comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering. He would have been in significant pain, and thanks to the quick actions of Energex’s team and our rescue team, he received the urgent care he needed.

Although his time with us was far too short, he was surrounded by compassion and kindness until the very end.

Rest in paradise Mr. Bucket 🌈

GO QUEENSLAND 👍

25/05/2026

We’d like to give a massive shout out to Steve, Pete & the rest of the Energex team for coming to the rescue of Mr Bucket last night.

Poor Mr Bucket was spotted almost falling from a large gumtree multiple times. He was unable to use his right leg, but thankfully he still had enough strength in his arms to keep holding onto the branch each time he slipped.

Thanks to the quick response, teamwork and care shown by the Energex crew, Mr Bucket was safely rescued and is now getting the help he needs.

A huge thank you to everyone involved for looking out for our wildlife 🐨💚
