It’s Week 2 of the NEST Program, delivered by OzHarvest in partnership with Caboolture Community Care, and our Certificate III in Hospitality class has been busy building real world kitchen confidence. 💥 Everyone participated in basic kitchen safety, good hygiene practices, and smart food storage skills to help reduce waste, all while cooking up some seriously delicious recipes for their team to enjoy.

👀 Designer Life is proud to deliver the training for the Certificate I in Workplace Skills as part of the Drive IT program at , a Queensland Government Skilling Queenslanders for Work – Get Set for Work initiative.

As they complete their traineeships with Substation33, participants are gaining real work experience, building confidence, receiving driving instruction from Substation33’s qualified instructor, and working with our trainer Yvette (pictured) to achieve their certificate qualification.

This inspiring group is future focused, and we’re proud to be part of it. 💜

📸 Participants from our Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) Certificate III in Hospitality course recently took part in a hands-on cooking day at the Caboolture Neighbourhood Centre called the NEST Program, a nutrition, education and skills training initiative delivered by in partnership with Caboolture Community Care. 🤩

This practical session focused on building real-world hospitality skills while preparing and enjoying a range of meals, including:
• Tofu, beef and chicken vegetable stir-fry options 🍜
• Overnight soaked oats with fruit and yoghurt for breakfast the next day 🥣
The class applied hygienic practices, correct food storage, nutrition principles, meal preparation techniques, and the importance of working as a team, drawing on knowledge gained through their coursework.
It was a great day, ending with plenty of thumbs up for some well-earned, delicious food! 👍🍽️
