Blue Mountains National Park continues to be the most visited national park in NSW, welcoming 7.8 million visits in the previous financial year, as record numbers of people head outdoors!
I am excited to see, yet again, our local National Parks recognised. - This is a testament to the beauty and attraction of a world-heritage-listed area.
More people than ever are choosing to experience the natural beauty of NSW with a record 65.6 million visits to national parks in, positioning the state’s parks network as a major driver of economic activity, regional development and affordable outdoor recreation.
Visitation has grown statewide in recent years, up 24 per cent since 2022, reflecting the growing appeal of nature-based experiences across the state.
New and upgraded walking tracks and visitor facilities, including the new Grand Cliff Top Walk, are making it easier for people to experience the World Heritage listed landscape, whether for a day trip or extended stay.
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service has also focussed on improving accessibility including new fully accessible pathways to the fabulous lookouts at Evans and Govetts Leap!
This afternoon, I sat down with Matt Fuller, the Deputy Secretary Road Maintenance and Resilience at Transport for NSW to ask him about some of the frequently asked questions my office has received regarding the Victoria Pass closure.

For years I have proudly marched with, campaigned for and stood alongside our hard-working NSW Nurses and Midwives' Association
From the Premier and Ministers:
“Nurses and midwives will receive their largest pay increase in more than two decades after a ruling from the independent industrial umpire today, with the wage boost being an all-time record-breaker for the lowest paid amongst them.
The Minns Government welcomes the decision delivered by the Industrial Relations Commission, which was restored to resolve exactly this type of matter.
The ruling will see nurses and midwives receive an historic pay rise of between 16 and 28 per cent.
Backdated to July 2025, the pay rise will comprise a reset increase of between 10 and 22 per cent. This will be followed by a 3 per cent increase from July 2026 and a further 3 per cent from July 2027.
Labor was elected with a mandate to scrap the Liberals and Nationals’ unfair wages cap and restore the independent adjudicator. Since then, we have worked closely with workers and unions to rebuild the industrial relations system, putting fairness back at the centre of workers’ pay.”
Thanks to our local Blue Mountains Nurses and Midwives, particularly. You are appreciated & I will keep fighting for you.

This past week a great night was enjoyed, with good people, fundraising for the Cancer Wellness Support team and their clients.
Thanks to Bygone Beauties Leura, the Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains and Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School for sponsoring the evening.
Hearing from Viv, Client Services Manager of CWS &
Kathryn - who spoke of her life as a Carer - was incredibly moving.
Appreciation is extended to all who attended for such a wonderful cause 💛

I know this closure has been tough on our community. Thank you for your patience and resilience. Critical geotechnical investigations at Mitchells Causeway have confirmed significant deterioration beneath the road, and work is now underway to identify a safe solution to reopen this vital route.

One of my favourite parts of this job is meeting locals who are actually benefiting from the policies we fight for. On average, Blue Mountains first-home owners saved $21,444 off the cost of their first home by avoiding paying stamp duty.
A superb afternoon in the Megalong Valley! Makers Market, a music festival & a wonderful community 💛
