You take a 20 odd mega pixel camera, with two hundred different buttons, open up your aperture add a little post processing effect and bam you have a pretty colourful post card picture.Heck lets make it a bokeh and not focus at all. Slam a fancy copyright with a fancy font or print it larger than life. Its not my way. If that's what its about then I am no photographer. The more buttons on my camer

“And I felt a sudden whirl in my head, knowing this leap was inevitable, that I wasn't just standing on the cliff, toes poking over, but already in mid-air.” ― Sarah Dessen
Autumn may very well be the best time to go jumping off a cliff into the sea. For some really odd reasoning the doctor went first.

Rainforest regeneration at Wingham Brush is one of the best wildlife rehabilitation projects that I've come across over the last few years. It shows how much difference even the smallest community can make when working for the cause. It certainly gives one a sense of hope. Most definitely to these adorable Grey Headed Flying Foxes.

We are back in Ceylon for a couple of weeks and we have a brand new Monday Trot episode for all you animal lovers.
Last week we made an impromptu trip to Yala National Park along with the brilliant Samitha from the Daya Safari Jeep Service. The park was as green as I've ever seen it and I finally managed to break my 'no cat' curse. I may very well be having a change of heart for the iconic park.
I also finally got the chance to try out my new Tamron Lenses telephoto that I was lucky enough to acquire via Alex Marshall Photography, and well... pictures are clearly worth a thousand words in this case.
See the gallery and read more below... Enjoy!

The Meme, The Flood & The Cat One can only hope that this is the start of the change Yala so desperately needs. The heavy rainfall had transformed the dry arid shrubs of Yala into a lush green land which had done the habitat a world of good.

“Was this the bright vastness the poet Bashō saw when he wrote of the Milky Way arched over a stormy sea?”
― Yasunari Kawabata, Snow Country
Witnessing and photographing the Milky Way has been one of my very few must do's. Even the threat of the artificial lights from Forster, New South Wales in the horizon couldn't drown out this magnificent spectacle from Old Bar Beach.
