Today on our Mayfield excursion, what started as a simple picnic turned into an unexpected and meaningful learning moment 🌿

Miss Lynda from Mayfield joined us to share some fascinating insights about the red-bellied black snake that lives on the grounds, and how their presence actually helps keep brown snakes away. The children were completely engaged, asking questions and soaking up the information.

This naturally led into an important discussion about snake safety — what to do, how to stay calm, and who to tell. To extend the learning even further, we brought out our first aid kit and explored how bandages are used in an emergency. The children loved getting involved and practising their new skills!

A beautiful reminder that some of the best learning happens in the moment, through curiosity, connection, and real-life experiences 🐍🌱✨

Today we pause to honour and remember the courage, sacrifice, and spirit of those who have served and continue to serve our country.

On Anzac Day, we reflect on the bravery of the ANZACs and all service men and women who have given so much for our freedom.

A little storm rolled through… and then came the rainbow 🌈

A quiet reminder from nature that even the smallest storms can lead to something beautiful. Slowing down, soaking it in, and appreciating the magic around us 💫

Loose parts spark endless possibilities—yesterday plastic pipes were safe bug homes, today they’re race tracks for balls.

Children building tiny tunnels so even a bug can have a safe home.

Children thrive when they learn and grow alongside those who know them best. Keeping siblings together in care nurtures a sense of security and belonging, while multi-age learning creates space for children to lead, support, and learn from one another—building confidence, empathy, and real-world social skills that last far beyond childhood.

Little busy hands are always learning—exploring, creating, and making sense of the world one small discovery at a time.

Right now, the riverbed that usually carries flowing water is dry — and it's become a whole new kind of space on the playground.
Without the rush of water, it’s open and quiet. A place where children can take a break from the busyness of play, spend time alone, or just get their hands in the dirt. Some sit and dig. Some walk slowly, thinking. Some just lie back and look up at the sky.
It’s become a simple, grounding spot — a place for calm, for curiosity, and for a little bit of stillness.
The water will return when the season changes. But for now, this dry riverbed is offering something just as valuable: space to slow down and connect — with the earth, and with yourself.
