🎶🌟 Fanfare 2026 – Instrumental Music Success 🌟🎶
Yesterday our Instrumental Music ensembles proudly represented Woodcrest State College at Fanfare, a biennial festival showcasing school-based instrumental music ensembles across Queensland.

This valuable event provided students with the opportunity to receive professional adjudication and enjoy performances from other talented ensembles across the state.

Under the direction of Mrs Shannon Druery (Band) and Mrs Donna Jones (Strings), our students performed with excellence and pride.

We are delighted to share the following results:
🎺 Primary Band – Silver
🎷 Secondary Band – Silver
🎻 Junior Strings – Gold
🎻 Senior Strings – Silver

A huge congratulations to all students involved for their dedication and outstanding performances.

Special thanks to Mrs Druery and Mrs Jones for their ongoing commitment to our Instrumental Music program, and to Courtney and Lisa for their behind-the-scenes organisation. Thank you also to Bronwyn for supporting our students on the day.

🖤💛❤️ First Nations Youth Leadership Program 🖤💛❤️

Four of our First Nations students recently had the opportunity to attend the First Nations Youth Leadership Program over two days at the Brisbane Lions Hub in Brighton Homes Arena.

Throughout the program, students participated in culturally based activities focused on building resilience, career planning, and developing peer support strategies. The experience provided valuable practical skills, knowledge, and confidence to help shape their leadership journeys and empower them as future leaders within our community.

We are incredibly proud of the way our students represented our school and embraced this opportunity for growth and learning. 🌟👏

🎉🎓 100 Days to Go – Year 12 Celebration 🎓🎉

Yesterday we celebrated our Year 12 cohort as they marked 100 days left of school!

To make the day extra special, students came dressed as what they wanted to be when they were 5 years old — a fun and creative way to reflect on how far they’ve come and how much they’ve grown.

It was a fantastic celebration filled with laughter, memories, and school spirit as our seniors continue their final year journey.

We are so proud of our Year 12 students and wish them all the best for the exciting weeks ahead! 💚✨
