While most of Brisbane was enjoying a sleep-in…
I made a different decision.
👉 5:30AM start. No excuses. No negotiation.
At TotalFusion Lions, it was game on.
💪 The Work
90-minute weights session.
Focused. Intentional. Disciplined.
Not because I had to…
But because that’s the standard I’ve set.

🎬👑 Weekend Wins with My MVPs – The Grandkids! 👑🎬
There’s nothing in the world quite like quality time with the grandkids… and this weekend? Straight to the highlight reel! 🏀🔥
We stepped it up and went Gold Class for a matinee—because when you’re rolling with legends, you’ve got to treat it like a championship experience! 🍿✨ Reclining seats, snacks flowing, and smiles from ear to ear.
The feature presentation? “The GOAT” – the Steph Curry story 🐐🎥
And wow… what a powerful message.
This movie takes you inside the journey of Stephen Curry—a kid who was overlooked, doubted, and told he wasn’t big, strong, or fast enough… but refused to let that define him.
It’s about:
🔥 Believing in yourself when others don’t
🔥 Putting in the work when nobody’s watching
🔥 Turning weaknesses into strengths
🔥 Staying humble, grounded, and committed to your craft

The Brisbane Bullets are a little short-sided…
And somehow I’ve been issued a ONE GAME PASS.
Yes, you read that right.
Now, Patrick Ewing Jr. had the audacity to call me out this week for not rocking up to a shooting comp.
Pat… my guy… you do remember last season, right?
Because I distinctly recall out-duelling you and Casey Prather 🤷🏽♂️
Let’s be clear:
I’m a walking 12 points per game at age 65
Your defence will play zone
They’ll ignore the “old guy” parked at the 3-point line
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is where mistakes are made 🎯
On the defensive end?
I’ll lock someone up for a solid 5 minutes.
That’s all you need. Championship minutes. 😤

When the Head Assistant Coach Calls You Out… and He’s Right 😬
Today I got lovingly (but firmly) called out by one of the Head Assistant Coaches from the Brisbane Bullets.
The charge?
👉 Failure to show up.
Specifically… I missed a couple of corporate basketball activities that were designed for:
• our awesome NLR clients
• and as a reward for a few of our Group legends
In basketball terms, I didn’t just miss the shot…
I didn’t even get off the bench. 🫠
My excuse?
I didn’t want to embarrass you again in front of your team… 😜
(Old players, bad knees, selective memory — you know how it is.)
All jokes aside, this one landed.
Because showing up matters.
Culture matters.
Relationships matter.
And if you’re going to align with a professional sporting organisation, you don’t just talk teamwork — you live it.
So:
✔ Accountability accepted
✔ Lesson learned
✔ Calendar locked in
✔ No more “I’ll catch the next one” energy
Appreciate the nudge, Coach. Even the veterans still need a timeout and a clipboard chat. 📝🏀
