THE GOSPEL SHAPES OUR LIVING (Baptism)
The apostle Paul compares two ways of living - life by the flesh and life by the Spirit. Life by the flesh is destructive to ourselves, the people around us, and society in general. By contrast, life by the Spirit leads to the fruit of a godly character, and all the benefits that flow from that.

THE GOSPEL BRINGS US FREEDOM
The Apostel Paul makes it clear that if we want to get right with God, we need to put our faith in Jesus. Following religious rules will not lead anyone back to God. Jesus came to free us from religiosity, but more that that, he came to free us from sin and death, so that we might enjoy a elationship with God through Him.

The TRINITY (Trinity Sunday, Confirmation Service)
God is not like us. Yes, we’re made in his image, but God is unique. As Karl Barth said, "One cannot speak of God simply by speaking of man in a loud voice." The Christian understanding of God is an eternal relationship between the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. That’s not easy to wrap our heads around, but why would we expect an omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent and eternal God to be easy to understand!

It was a joy to welcome Bishop John to Springfield this morning and to witness the confirmations of Antonette, Gracelyn, Matthew, and Dom. Their heartfelt testimonies were a real highlight as they shared how the Lord has been at work in their lives. We also had the privilege of welcoming Kez into the Anglican Church. A truly moving service all round.

On Sunday 24 May, St Andrew’s Springfield and The Springfield Anglican College (TSAC) celebrated Pentecost together as a community. The inaugural combined Pentecost Service celebrated the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the beginning of the Church's mission to proclaim the Gospel to all nations.
As a community we worshipped and celebrated with music from the school and the church, an All Age talk about the Holy Spirit, a multilingual Lord's Prayer, Communion, face painting and a wide array of food for morning tea.
We thank TSAC for joining St Andrew's in our Sunday Service and hosting the service in their new Ironbark Sports Centre.
