Everyone in the RTBU sends their thoughts to our comrades in the UK after a tragic incident. In times like these we are united as workers in solidarity with the family and friends who have lost their loved one.

Eddie Dempsey general secretary RMT said: β€œWe are devastated to learn that a train driver and former RMT rep has tragically died as a result of today’s crash between Luton and Bedford. The thoughts of RMT are with their family, friends, colleagues and the ASLEF trade union at this awful time.”

This Men's Health Week, we're reminding our members that looking after yourself is just as important as looking after your workmates and your family.

Long hours, rotating rosters, fatigue, time away from family, and the pressure to just "get on with it" can take a toll. Too many men put their health on hold, but asking for help isn't weakness; it's taking control.

If something doesn't feel right, don't wait. Talk to your GP, check in with a mate, or reach out for support.

Because solidarity doesn't stop at the workplace. We look out for each other, on and off the job.

Count Queensland out at your own risk.

The series is on the line, but the fight is far from over.

Members Luke and Joel are proudly repping the Maroons today, standing behind the boys as they prepare to fight and keep the series alive in Game 2.

Last week, Aurizon Coal Traincrew delegates came together in Rockhampton for another round of bargaining.

And after months of putting in the hard yards, they got it done.

The bargaining team has reached an in-principle agreement, marking a huge milestone in this campaign. It hasn't always been easy, but your delegates stuck at it, had the tough conversations, and never lost sight of what members wanted.

Once the agreement was reached, Sub-Branch Secretary Jon Harris joined the team to be briefed on the outcome and congratulate the delegates on the incredible effort they've put in throughout the bargaining process.

This is a big achievement and one worth celebrating. A massive shout out to everyone involved for the time, effort and determination that's gone into getting to this point.

That's what happens when workers stand together and back each other in.

Well done, team! πŸ‘πŸ’ͺ

Today is Mabo Day.

We honour the life and legacy of Eddie Koiki Mabo, a proud union member and railway worker, whose determination helped change Australia forever through the recognition of Native Title.

As we reflect on this important day, we also acknowledge the generations of Torres Strait Islander, Aboriginal and South Sea Islander railway workers whose contributions helped build our industry. Among them were the legendary "Islander Track Gang" who, in 1968, laid an astonishing 7 kilometres of railway track in just 11 hours and 40 minutes, setting a world record that still stands as a testament to their skill, strength and teamwork.

Their stories are woven into the history of our railways and our union. Today, we remember their achievements, honour their legacy, and reflect on the ongoing journey towards reconciliation and justice.

Some delegates never stop fighting for their workmates, and Margi Saunders-Rowe is one of them.

As Acacia Ridge Delegate and State Councillor on the Rail Operations Division, Margi continues to be a powerful voice for members. Last week, she headed to the Melbourne Freight Terminal alongside delegates from across the country to do what she does best: raise the issues that matter and make sure members are heard.

Always advocating. Always representing. Always wearing the RTBU beanie with pride.

Great work, Margi!
