Beyond Limitations Coaching

Those of us in our 40s and 50s often worry that our age will put prospective employers off. I use it as a selling point. I have life experience (i understand your customer's needs and show empathy)... i own a home locally (i am here long term)... i have an established family and won't be having more kids (i won't go maternity leave)... i am debt free (so i work because i'm passionate, not because i need money).

Change only comes if YOU make it happen. 3 years ago, in my early 40's, i decided i wanted to become a Registered Nurse, so i could help people. It seemed daunting to start a new career path and go back to uni at my age. Yet here i am, 3 years on, about to graduate with high distictions, and become a registered Health Practitioner. Don't give up on your dreams guys!!

Life is complicated enough at the moment, isn't it? Let's not make it worse than it needs to be

Are your kids bored at home? Here are some ideas that we are doing. Glow stick slumber party in the lounge. Pressing flowers. Shaving cream painting.

If you are feeling depressed and alone during this social isolation, please know you aren't alone. Look into using tools to stay connected in groups. We use Whatsapp on our devices to share instant photos/videos and comments with my family in Europe and Australia. I use Messenger to chat with my uni classmates, and use Zoom on our computer to connect all of our family households at once (like Skype, but everyone can see each other at once).

You are NEVER too old to return to study, or change career path. Here i am receiving my Business Degree at 21 years of age. And in the next picture, i am 41 years old, just having completed my first round of exams in my Bachelor of Nursing. I'm enjoying the journey!!

During the middle of this year, i took a few months to do some soul searching about my career. I didn't feel satisfied as i always work behind the scenes. Working in a hospital, i made a difference to their revenue, but not to the patients. At 41, i decided i wanted to return to uni to become a registered nurse. After a few months of anxious waiting, i am excited to have been offered a place in the Bachelor of Nursing!! It is NEVER too late to make changes in your life. Take the time to think about what REALLY makes you happy, and don't be afraid to change direction.
